I get mine from a car accessory shop for around 100/sqft.
He also cuts and fits as required.

3M Nomad are better but around 3 times the price.

Has anyone considered tried out aluminum floor mats? I ended up drilling a small crater with my left heel in the foot well of my 6 year old WagonR. To avoid a bigger a deeper crater, I placed a thin wooden strip. Probably, I was using the clutch more than I'm supposed to:).
I'm hoping not to make a similar dent on my new ride - HC 2017. Here are some floor mats that I found online though I couldn't source any in India. Has anyone tried this option?

I have something similar in my Cedia. The mats are actually made from with a very thick, heavy grade rubber but the front looks like a glossy aluminium floor plate just as in your pics. All too often people mistake them to be metallic.

These are made in Portugal and I picked them up right here from the classifieds section from a fellow member from Bangalore IIRC.

Is a floor mat actually required? If so, why does most OEM's add them in the accessory list. I am confused whether to have one or not.

Perhaps from the dealers' standpoint it is just another accessory to profit by. I think, though, that there are (at least) two good reasons to buy car mats.

1. They are disposable. You get but one factory fitted carpet. Wear it out or ruin it with dirt, and replacement would be expensive.

2. They may add either comfort (softness) or utility (hard-wearing, easy to remove and clean), depending on whether a soft or hard mat is chosen.

Added a heel pad (bought from Aliexpress) to the OEM Jazz driver's footmat.

The OEM footmats are carpet finish, and the heel pad is flexible rubber/plastic finish.

The heel pad is held in place by 6 flat headed small metal screws that were supplied alongwith the pad.

That looks very good. If it is as good as it looks, I suggest that you buy one or two more! Reason being that the heel pad is something of a sacrificial item, and will wear out. If you have spare(s) it will be so easy to swap in a new one.

Yes - let me test how comfortable I am driving with this thing below my right heel. Also, it's effect on wear n tear of shoes too has to be checked !
If it checks all the boxes, maybe I shall get a spare in sometime.

My Maruti dealer provided me mats for my Swift and they have proved to be sticky at the surface meaning they at times stick to the bottom of my shoes. What can be done to remove the stickiness of the mats as it is dangerous while driving as the mats at times stick to bottom of my shoes and prevent proper operation of the pedals.

I did with the shoe paper provided by the service center but it wears out soon. I have now removed the mat and placed it at the rear passenger area for the time being and I am driving with just a thin plastic cover over the factory fitted carpet.

These being monsoon days is a bad idea to drive without a rubber mat. What could be the reason for the mat sticking to my shoe's sole? Apart from buying a new set I am not sure what is to be done. The mats are the really thin rubbery type mat provided as MGA (Maruti Genuine Accessory)

How old are the mats?

The coating on the mats could be wearing off OR, if they are low quality rubber, that is disintegrating.

I suggest you get a set of smoked Packy Poda pvc mats like this.

They were new with the car and are just ~ 6 months old.

I have been using rubber floor mats provided with the car, but it does get muddy. I was searching for other mats and I found this on Amazon, does anyone have experience with this mat. Is it an okay idea to but this, please suggest.

Just got to any shop that sells the noodle mats and let them cut it accordingly. Using this for the last 4 years, no complaints except in monsoons!
