I believe it's the difference in the heat rejection %. s per my knowledge, Arctic cool rejects most heat among other Garware variants.

How can a film possibly stand the wear and tear of life on the outside, especially the windscreen?
That's what I thought at first too. But then soon after this he made cuts to fit the windshield perfectly and took it inside and stuck it from inside. They use the heat gun on the outside first to soften the film I believe.

Oh! That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the explanation

From logo on the background photo put up by the OP, this looks like one of the branch of CARZSPA.

Apologies for a late response. Yes, it's a CarzSpa store located at Banaswadi. Rates were definitely more competitive than other places.

After using Garware Arctic Cool Shield on the front windshield, can definitely attest to it's efficacy in combating the heat. Also, the VLT is seamless.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

I made a quick video of the 3M CR70 installation process. Hope it is useful.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

I decided to go with Garware Arctic Cool for all the glasses on my VW Virtus. Rates seem to have gone up spectacularly.. I see posts here from 2020 and later where the price is between 6k to 10k, but I'm being quoted 15k for Ice Cool and 18k for Arctic Cool.

Are these prices current for 2024 or am I being ripped off? The shop has very good Google reviews.

My BIL installed the film for the windshield only in his Safari and gave the filsm a big thumbs up after his very recent Pune Malvan trip where the heat from the windshield was very less. Now he is planning for the rest of the windows too. It costed 6K for the windshield and now an additional 9k for the rest of the windows.

I enquired with a dealer of Garware sun films and the response was Garware Supreme is much better than Artic cool shield. Any one used Supreme series? What is the VLT, IRR specs?

The shop is definitely quoting higher prices. The cost of Arctic Cool for the front windshield should be in the range of 6k and Arctic Cool/Icecool for all other windows should be in the bracket of 6-7k.

I got Garware's Ice Cool installed for 4k on my front windshield 3 weeks or so ago in Chennai, and I don't think I was quoted more than 4.5-5k for the other 4 sides too. 15k is way too high for the Ice Cool. I was quoted around 7k for Arctic Cool for the front windshield, although I suspect I could have negotiated down to 6.5k or lower.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Prices have increased like anything.

Checked both 3M and Vkool and these are quotes which I got for front windshield

Anyone has fixed Vkool films ?

3M CR70 - 13.5k

Vkool X75 - 17.5k

Vkool VK70 - 24.5k

Surprisingly on checking the specifications 3M CR70 has visible light transmission of only 58% whereas the Vkool ones have more than 70%

Not sure if you've already got it done. Connect with Shreyansh (99800 78952) at Haralur Road. He is the authorised dealer and installer for Stek in Bangalore.
