Re: How does your car smell

Discovered this lovely MyShaldan Lime today.
The fragrance coupled with my Leather Polish for the seats and upholstery plus the special Meguiar Wipes for the dashboard etc, smells absolutely heavenly.
The car smells great and I don't feel like getting out when I park!

Oh what a tempting review.
I recently gave a break to ambipur and bought "My Tone Car Perfume & Air Freshener"
It smells better and I am loving the change.

Still I would certainly try MyShaldan Lime when this one goes empty as I've heard so much about MyShaldan that I am sick of not having it

Shaldan is good but it's too fruity to my taste.

Re: How does your car smell

Not that my car was smelling sour, but the monsoon did bring out those nasty damp smells, but over last weekend, I crushed some coffee beans in a small container & placed it on the floor of the car overnight. The smell was heavenly the next day, it probably absorbed all the musty smell.

Re: How does your car smell

No smells or odors for me. So no air fresheners or anything of the sort. No food eaten inside (well most of the time), no flowers/ smelly stuff transported. Immediately after dashboard polishing etc, I leave the windows open during a drive outside town.
If I smell something different, we leave a few coffee beans inside for some time and it takes care of the smell. If not, its clean up time.
no offence to anyone who uses fresheners, just that I am a bit smell intolerant.

I too have My Shaldan Lemon, but the fragnance is not that strong. Its good when you get in the car for the first time, and then if you open the windows/door, then the smell is gone, it takes time to feel the fragnance again.

Mixed emotions for me right now

BTW, where do you place the perfume? I place it under the drivers seat.

Re: How does your car smell

Thank you for this insight.
Will plug in the Coffee Beans just for fun and see what happens. Perhaps it is a good time to do it because of late its been rather wet and damp. Though my car smells very nice as of this moment, I want to see what coffee beans will do differently.

Coffee beans unless ground won't have much of an impact. Freshly ground coffee is ecstasy and drives away bad smell. Only grouse is that it wont last as long as a freshener and thus can be expensive in the long run. But worth a try, especially if you love coffee. Camphor pellets too are a good alternative to drive away the dampness, if you like the fragrance.

I place it in the cup holder. In the Punto, it is next to the gear lever.

My new car smells plastiky and I just love the smell. Reminds me when I bought the previous car. Now I have kept gel type perfume and it overrides the plastic smell.

Re: How does your car smell

I dab 2 cotton balls in Lavender essential oil and stick them in the AC vents for about 3-4 days. The car smells heavenly for the next 2 weeks after which I repeat the same.

This is inexpensive, the car smells good and no chemicals.

You can buy a variety of fragrances such as rose, lemon etc and keep varying.

Congrats on your new ride mate. Enjoy the new car smell while it lasts before going for any perfumes.

Re: How does your car smell

I am still with Ambipur. Actually like it & have no complaints.

Will try MyShaldan next time to see how it works.
