@C-Zar: I think there is a possibility for this as it is raining in Chennai and the wet mats can also cause this smell. Can you give me the name of the carpet cleaning powder?

Carpet deodorizer

Moonraker: I had bought this at the Dollar store in Thane (now shutdown, but I guess other $ stores could have it too) @ Rs. 99/-

This is some of what's written on that can:
  • CARPET FRESH
  • With Baking Soda (Con Bicarbonato De Sodio)
  • Vanilla.
  • Rug & Room Deodorizer.
  • 14oz 396g
  • WD-40 Company.
  • Made in U.S.A
(It's simply sprinkle - wait 5 mins- vacuum)

i don't know whether this has been posted before. i use ambipure along with poppy for refilling. the empty ambipure can be refilled poppy, which is very simple. at the same time ambipure is not exposed to direct sunlight and if you happen to have more than one flavour of poppy or other liquid fragrances then you can change them on weekly basis.
It is avery cost effective method and saves money on buying relatively higher priced ambipure refills.
P.S: i want to try with some aroma therapy fragrances . but know the availability in mumbai.

I have tried Ambi-pure and various other sister products but doesn't work for me ! Now using a Deo of my own choice (you have ample choices) and life has become easier. Open the Glove box - and - Spray when needed . Easy

I feel Air-wick which is available in most shops in India is better compared to Ambi-Pure.Finally we have a choice as non-imported brands. Air-Wick is pretty famous in Europe as well, i have seen lot of people using them in Europe.

I've use Ambi-Pur earlier, but found the fragrance too strong for my liking. The wick is too thick, hence dispenses the perfume very fast. It lasts hardly a month, plus there are chances of spilling if the bottle gets tilted.

Now I use Air-Wick, the flavour is Florida Sunshine, IIRC. The wick is slightly thinner compared to Ambi-Pur. Hence the fragrance is not too strong, lasts longer and does not spill.

I'm a great fan of the green apple flavour.
Bought one such perfume from Emperor Car Accessories on NH Bypass ( Palarivattom to Vytilla ), Kochi, which can be attached to the AC vent. And no, it's not Ambi. It's kind of a german brand.
Costed me Rs. 240/-. The fragrance is very soft and is very close to the natural fragrance of green apple. This is surely the best perfume, I have ever used on car. ( I'm a person who hate the flavours of Ambi, because I feel it's too strong and artificial. )

I use Old Spice to fill up up the "Poppy" Air Freshner bottle - 100 ml lasts approx 45 days - find it nice and mild

its been raining here and after the doors have 'delayed' closing(s) {umbrellas...} the car has a slight damp smell.. so now that's a smell.. the Good part is it rectifies itself if you drive for 15mins with the windows down (obviously when its sunny and not raining)
But seriously my car has a new refresher those leafy thingys that hang from the rear view, the flavor is LIME!

Smells of burning rubber sometimes

Just kidding, I'm a spirited driver but not a loony!

I've got that Ambi Pur thing that you slap onto the air-con vents. It lasts for a month or a bit more. It smells pretty good but sometimes makes you feel nauseous!

Any suggestion on latest car perfumes on offer? I was told that the car perfumes that we stick to air cons create health issues as compared to volatile ones. Not sure how far this is true.
