Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

A lot has happened over the last couple of months! The car, although runs great needed some work.

It was time for the 60k service. I pulled out the injectors and sent them for ultrasonic cleaning. Replaced the rubber parts and put in the injectors.

One of em rare pics of me working on the car- Fixing backing the injectors.

I took her to MASS the next day for the extensive 60k service/checkup. Changed the oil to mobil1 FS since thats what was always used.

I had to replace the lower arms and belts since they were gone and history. The ride and noise had become pretty much unbearable. I replaced the rear brake shoes as well.

I also changed the tyres to ZLO's as the AD07's had become hard.

Well, thats pretty much it i guess! I still enjoy driving the car as much as i did the day i bought her!

Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

Can you tell if if there are any shops that specialize in ultrasonic cleaning? I called come Maruti dealers in Bangalore and they said their machine is down.

Where to get O rings from?

Did you notice any difference in performance?

Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

Nothing much to update.
I did a 1.2km trip to Dandeli for rafting and Goa for god knows what. The car behaved amazingly well. Lots of red lining, hard cornering and some off-roading. 4 Adults and luggage with spirited driving and yet she returned around 10.5kpl. The petrol prices in goa just made things better!
A slight hum from the rear wheel kept annoying me. It increased after all the hard cornering. Looks like a wheel bearing is shot!

Oh BTW, id recommend rafting at Dandeli. it was fun!!!

Anyone interested in a sad attempt to a flyby?

Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

Update:

Frustrated with the crappy DIY piggyback issues plus some issues with the cam, Ive decided to pull off all the junk and bring the car back to stock.

Will be keeping the FF exhaust on till i find a stock exhaust and probably sell the FFE if someone is interested.

Will be retaining the KONI's as well.

The car is currently at the garage awaiting a top end rebuild!

Upset, yet i say- Cheers!

Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

Update- The ghost that the tuner put into the car just refuses to leave.
He has soldered so many resisters into the wiring loom that the CEL is glowing in all its glory.
This was done to hide the CEL that was coming on with his piggyback ecu. Now that the piggy back has been pulled out, all the issues are coming to the fore.
The electricians are frustrated to say the least!!
And now i know why the car always had an erratic idle. sigh!!

Re: Baleno Powered by RDDreams - Street Build

@mods- Could you please close this thread? Ive taken off all the RDD stuff from the car. Its no more 'powered' by RDD.

Reason(if you deem it right to publish)- The entire job was more a less a jugaad and a learning experience for the Tuner since it was his first customer build. When i tried contacting him for help on issues i was facing(please note I was willing to pay whatever he asked for), he was very rude and arrogant. Furthermore, he questioned my ability to pay his 'consultation' charges without even telling me his charges. Over the next yr, when things started going from bad to worse, i had to take a call and i did. I removed everything he put in!!
I believe the second baleno he built suffered the same fate. Thankfully Race Dynamics was able to revive it.
I have nothing against the guy who built it. He has the brains but i only wish he put it to good use.
Just putting this here for the good of the community.

Cheers!!
