Where to get old Lancer parts?

Hi all,

I have a 10 yr old Lancer which has one ORVM broken. Only the insert and not the case or the electrical mechanism. Southern Motors says that they cant get the part as the car is too old. Any suggestions?[Bangalore]

If its "Made in India" by Mitsubishi then go to Mumbai. There's a big market in South Mumbai behind JJ Hospital. The local train railway station is Sandhurst Road north of Mumbai CST.The market is a 15 minute taxi drive from the railway station. You will get all the parts if you're lucky and if a Lancer has been salvaged recently.

Why don’t you write to Mitsubishi India or make a request on their web page? Normally I have seen these companies do respond though an ultimate positive result may or may not happen!

Need Advice on Lancer Parts

HI All

I am a new member to the team BHP family and am looking for some sound advice.

I own a 2001 Model Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi and am looking for parts for my vehicle. I have looked online and am confused about which parts will fit my car.
I need to change the front suspension on the car as its old and giving way. It has been repaired once and now needs a replacement.

I am coming across suspension parts for the Mitsubishi Mirage and Galant. Will these parts fit my car make and model?

I also checked with the local dealer here in Mumbai [Aquest Auto], the spare available here are more expensive. The parts available online are half the price as compared to the dealership.

Please advice..

I have listed the parts I am looking for below. Any help will be great.

1. Front Shock absorber and strut assembly with the springs [Both sides - any upgrades will also be great]
2. Front wind screen
3. Side view mirrors [Driver side and passenger side]
4. Front Bumper and grill

These are the parts I am currently looking for.

Thanks

Almost all mirage parts are bolt on whereas those from a galant aren't since the chassis are completely different.

As for suspension, I would recommend picking up KYB /Koni/tokico ones, adjustable ones depending on your budget.
As for springs, you could stick to stock ones or go with lowering springs from H&R, Eibach if you are OK with the stiffer ride.

Front windshield, better source locally, international shipping will be obscene.

You should be able to find orvm on eBay. Search for 1997 mirage.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

You'll find all suspension part numbers - Mitsusbishi OEM and equivalent KYB ones in my thread on Lancer suspension :-)

Hope you Lancer is back to its good handling manners soon!

Hi Lancer_rit

Thanks for the great thread and your help. I tried looking for the parts with the part numbers mentioned by you with no luck. Did you go to any specific website to order the parts? If so could you please mention which one.

Thanks again

Finding OE parts online could prove difficult, I say your best bet is aftermarket KYB AGX, Koni Yellows

Re: Where to get old Lancer parts?

Hi Guys

Can anyone help me out with the right part numbers for Koni yellows or AGX that will fit my lancer. I am not getting KYB 333342 or 333343 struts anywhere.

The KYB parts I am getting are 332113 and 332112. Don't know if these will fit.
The KYB catalog does have 332113, 332112 mentioned for the mirage 97 and the Model numbers [CJ#A] corresponding for both the Lancer sold here in India and the Mirage are the same. Will these then fit the Lancer?

Please help, my car really needs a new suspension or else I am afraid that she will fall apart.

Thank you

Here you go,

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...win_Tube/20444

You should be looking for 1997 model parts. Our chassis is CK2A.

Here are pics of mine for part nos.

Note that the fronts in my case are inserts and have to be installed in the existing tube assembly. The procedure for doing so is provided with the shocks.

Rear are pretty straightforward.

Btw, while you are at it, do check the status of your Lower arm bushes, sway bar bushes, tie rods, ball joints, axle boots, strut top hat rubber and bearing.

Decided what you want to do with the springs ? Keep em stock if they are in good shape and just upgrade the shocks in my opinion.

No doubt the Stiffer spring + shock combo makes the car razor sharp and fun to corner with minimal body roll and far better control but let me warn you that the ride quality does take a hit. Although you will have a big grin on your face, your co passengers would have somewhat of a different opinion

OE springs from the dealer a horribly expensive and that was one of the reasons why I picked up H&R springs.

The ones available in local open markets aren't good and reliable.

Re: Where to get old Lancer parts?

Hi Amey

Thank you, you have been very helpful.
Will stick to the stock springs if they are in good condition. if not then will get new ones.
Thanks on the tips will definitely check out the bushes, tie rods, ball joint etc.

Will keep you posted as and when I get the work done and how she rides.

Thanks again
