Re: Price for 3M sunfilm?

Got these fitted:
Front: CR70 - 7.5K (in Aug 11, 3M Car Care HSR, Bangalore)
Rear, sides: RE35 - 4.9K (in Oct 11, Konark, Jayanagar, Bangalore) [3M had quoted 5.6K]

I remember the 3M guys at HSR telling that RE35 for rear & side for a car comes in a box and so only side or only rear cannot be done. But the guys at Konark pulled out a big roll of RE35, cut the film according to size & fitted it.
Does RE35 come in both as a box for a car and also as a big roll?

PS: CR70 at 3M HSR was done from the film roll.

He also did speak to Sidhu and i did speak to him, he was doing the usual sales pitch as company fixed prices etc.

underbody i was offered Rs.3175 or so with 5 year warranty.
Members please suggest an alternative and reliable location?

Hey Keyan, infact i also got a higher quote and the reason given was price revision, i paid 5200 for the CS35 on the sides. So i am guessing you would also have got the same price.

Hi Keyan,

Prices for the sunfilm have been revised from 3rd of October for all the

sunfilms. even hirak also got the filming done recently.

CS series for your Jazz will be costing 5250 with 3 years warranty (even for polo also) as of today.

and the underbody 5 years warranty will be 3195.

I just want to clarify on this and the everyone agree with the fact that 3M is a reliable company.

As a customer you can always go to anyplace of your choice.

Re: Price for 3M sunfilm?

Hello Team, I'm planning to install 3M sunfilm RE50 on the sides and rear and CS50 in the front of our Honda Jazz in Mumbai. I'm sticking to the ones which comply with Goa RTO as they are pretty strict with darker tints.

I'd appreciate approximate prices for the same so as to budget accordingly.

Could you also provide a list of 3M Authorised dealers preferably in and around Borivli (W)?

Cheers.

Re: Price for 3M sunfilm?

Received the below Quote from 3M authorised dealer at Nagar Road Pune for my Fiesta Classic (6 years old now).

Below are the details quoted by the 3M guy himself including the HR, UV protection and Visibility percentages for Sides and Rear .

SP grade - 50% Visibility- 2.6K (not recommended unless you are on tight budget - I dint get the full details on this one).

CS Series - 33% HR, UV 99%, 50% Visibility (RE50 I guess) - Rs.5250/-
RE Series - 43% HR, 99.99% UV, 52% Visibility (RE50 I guess) - Rs.5675/-
CR50 - 56% HR, UV 99.99%, 50% Visibility - Rs.17500/- On this alone he offers a discounted price of 16200. Says this is the earlier price.

Front Windshield: CR70 - Rs.7750/-

Combo prices quoted (Front + Sides + Rear):
CR70 + RE - Rs.13425/-
CR70 + CR - Rs.25250/-

Exterior work:

Paint protection - 4495 on which I can get 10% Discount

Please can anyone suggest if these sound good? I think the CR70 rate quoted is high based on my reading here.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Would suggest you to try out Carex, Baner (Opposite Sadanand & VITS, adjacent to Express highway).

I got my 3M sunflim done at their place a month back for my Vento - good work done by them.
Combo Price (RE50 + CR70) : 11000
Side & Back : RE50 : 4500
Front : CR70 : 6500

Even if I had gone for either of the two sections, the prices applicable was as above.
Nothing extra paid (they have boards put up stating labor charges & credit card 2% charges would be in addition to the price).

If you are going for additional work (paint protection as you mentioned), you can bargain a better deal.

Thank You Ninja for that info. and must say you were quick!

I work in Hinjewadi, so Carex is quite nearby. I will try that.

Also - if done from an external party (meant, other than 3M Authorized ones), how can we ensure that the material used is indeed the one we've paid for? like in this case, validating CR70 being CR70?

I am a novice in this - so unsure if there will be any branding or if it comes in packets or cut out from a big roll - so this relates to the validating question of how I can validate!

Generally there is a 3M executive to watch over the work & to ensure that they do use 3M material (heard this from the guy himself). In my case he was there overseeing the entire operation. The downside is he'll probably try to sell a lot more 3M products to you.

Also you'll recieve warranty cards for the films - the RE series has a 3 year warranty, while the CS series has a 5 year warranty. I have both the warranty cards for my car.

Carax is a pretty well known dealer. He has another shop on JM road too (Bhandari Auto). So, even if its external party (this guy is 3M Authorized), the stuff used will be genuine. They would also give you the warranty card.

See what quote this guy gives you. Carax, is generally considered to be pricey. Compare it to others and then settle in for the cheapest.

I went to Carax this evening - the sales guy Mr.Bhandari, is well spoken, explained the technicalities, gave me a quote for 3M and YES he did manage to instill enough confidence in me. Showroom itself was quite good with a basement facility where they do installations etc.

Quote given is as below.

3M:

CR 70 - 7750 (F)
RE 50 - 5675 (S+R)
------
Total - 13425

After discount he quoted 11,800 as final price. What do you guys say?
