Can anyone recommend a mobile holder for 1st gen figo? Given that the dashboard is not having a smooth texture? Any pointers will be much appreciated...

I recently got an Amkette iGrip Drive Long Arm Car Phone Holder for Dashboard and Windshield.

My Chevy does not have a smooth textured dashboard. This works quite well with my heavy S22 Ultra.

I keep my phone in landscape mode as the screen is quite large.

That looks good. I could never get those suction devices to hold on a textured surface like that.

Please check out the video in the amazon link. There is a small gel sticker that is stuck on the dashboard. That provides the smooth surface for this mount to hold on.

Oh, excellent. I currently have a home-cobbled thing which is basically a weighted circular bag with the phone holder stuck in the middle. I might give your device a try.

Most of all I need it to be unobtrusive when not in use, because, most of the time I don't use it! This looks better for that.

I have been using a mobile holder for last 2 years which goes inside the CD slot and holds up pretty good. The stand itself is sturdy too.

I got this -

However the gel sticker just did not stick on the dashboard. Landed up sticking the suction cup on the windshield on the right of the steering wheel. So far it is holding good, however on bumpy roads, the arm tends to dropdown holding my iphone 13. Not sure how long would it last. May have to try putting the suction cup directly on the dashboard!

Hi, in the never ending hunt to find an ideal mobile phone holder.. I came across this product.

Wraptastic Car Mobile Phone Holder | Telescopic One Touch Long Neck Arm 360 Degree Rotation | Ultimate Reusable Suction Cup Mount Mirror Stand Anti Shake & Fall Prevention https://amzn.eu/d/j3pMSHQ

Has anyone tried this ?

I ordered, received and installed this one just last week:

https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0713ZQDXC/

Unlike suction / sticker installations (which I wanted to avoid; primarily to not have anything that hinders my windshield view), this one fits into the CD slot of the car.

It needs some getting used to, and I'm yet to do a long drive with it in place, but so far I'm liking it.

The price is also comparable to the products in the immediately preceding two messages.

Have realized over time that an ideal mobile mount needs to have minimal joints and arms in order for it to remain rattle free on our bumpy roads.

Ideal mount should have:
1) A sticky gel based suction cup so that it can stick on rough/textured dashboards.
2) Just a one piece plastic extension over the suction cup without any joints.
3) A phone gripper mounted on a balljoint that allows the phone to be turned over a wide angle.

Haven't yet come across a mount with all the above qualities yet:)

I got this amkette as I needed something long enough to put my phone within reach while driving.

I use Iottie Easy One Touch Wireless 2, its a wireless charger too. Can use it on AC vents or can fix it on the CD slot.
Tried it on AC vent but due to the weight of the phone, the phone stoops down.
The best way to use it to use the CD slot.
I got it from US or you can also find it on Amazon India

iOttie is one of the most popular brands for mobile mount worldwide, and many companies like Zapp made clone of their popular One Touch lineup which one Bhpian is using below.

iOttie mount of 4 yrs started showing its age and keeps falling off from the windshield. I think there is a cut in the suction mechanism and the mount is currently getting held only by the adhesive gel which came on the suction side. Add to that the multiple joints have developed lots of play and my mobile sways once I drive over bumpy road, and the mount randomly falls off after sometime. I will check if it can be repaired, else need to check for a new alternative. It seems the life of these phone mounts are about 4-5yrs, about the same time my previous TomTom lasted.

It looks good, two points about this one to think about are:
1. It doesn't have a base support at the charging side of the phone.
2. I've had a bad experience with the circular sticky pad provided on another model to stick on rough dashboard surface. the circular pad simply didn't stick. Wondering if this circular pad would stick on hot rough dashboard surface.

Another similar model that addresses point #1 but still may not address point#2 is below:

https://amzn.eu/d/566csy8

Getting anything to stick on a rough dashboard textured surface especially when the dashboard tends to get super hot on our sunny days is a real challenge.

Any holder on the dashboard with a heavy phone eventually falls off. The suction cup never consistently sticks for a long time.
