innova engine swap possible?

hi
friend of mine wanted to buy very used toyota innova and wanted to give her remake
is it possible to replace 250000kms driven 2.5d-4d engine with used one prado or hilux 3.0 d-4d or any other past toyota engine?
can we buy new one from india-toyota company?

Considering your friend is buying a 2.5L kms done Toyota, i am sure it will be dirt cheap.

Yes the 3.0 D4D will be a direct fit as it comes in the Innova in other countries.

I don't think they will sell him a brand new 3.0 engine because firstly it is not imported into India by them.

Oh i thought if its locally made then why wont they sell the engine, AFAIK you could get 1.6L Baleno engines, 1.3L engines off the shelf from MASS. Correct me i seem to be wrong here

no you cant you will have to take a prt list all the codes and buy them part by part by the list code for the baleno it works out up to 4.5l approx.

4.5l jus for the engine? i dont think it would have been that expensive.

yeah even i think it would be around 1.5 lakhs.An engine gearbox bla bla costing 4.5 lakhs that would leave no money room for body or other parts as the baleno costs just a little more.

an aftermarket ecm would not make sense since the engine had been used 250000 kms already.
