Dechroming - Vinyl wrap, paint or plastidip?

Hi,

If you guys want to dechrome a car, which would you choose and why?

Also, suggestions for a good guy in BLR to do it? Not a DIY type of person.

You can check with Carmed or Krithi Car Care, both in the Hennur/Horamavu area.

Go with wrap, paint will come off in parts from stone chips and wrap gives you an option to revert back as well. Plasti dip has generally not been much of a success in India.

What about small parts like the logo, the letters of the model etc? Can they also be wrapped?

Wrap the flat areas and paint the curved ones.

Paint is permanent but you can always buy another set of parts such as emblems and door handles if you change your mind.

We got ours done at carmed. Painted all black and used black sun films on the roof rails.

Logo and letter just buy in black or you can paint them, a good person with skills can wrap them too.

Always better to remove the trims and paint them, will give you a better finish also, paint is the only option to have a long life. Logos , emblems etc can be painted as well.

What paint do they use? My local paint guy said that paint on chrome will come off.

re: Dechroming - Vinyl wrap, paint or plastidip?

Planning to get my Napoli Black Scorpio N Z8L de-chrome completely as it has a lot of chrome compared to the base variants, would it look good? Any suggestions?

Also, any good detailers in South Bengaluru?

They can be easily removed and spray painted in black. Here's mine with painted logo & wrapped tail lights.

Painted by myself 4 years ago:

This is from last month (I liked it better without the letters).
The wraps have started to peel off which is partly due to the sharp edged tail light design.
