Could you post some pictures of what this set up looks like on the Xuv? Would be interesting to see the final results.

Attachment 2453180

Amongst the aux lights I have used (Rigid, BD & Stedi) I like the colour temperature of the BD. Stedi 3301 18.6" is marketed as 5500K but I do not think they are true 5500K lights but cooler. BD S2 Pros were driving+spot combo beams and mounted higher up horizontally which added more body to the stock lights and a bit of extra throw for the high beam. When the Stedi came I converted the BD to spot beams and mounted as seem in the picture here, mounting it vertically is not ideal I know, but being spots doesn't matter much. Similarly 3301 18.6" was chosen because it had more spot beams (8) over flood beams (4). I have removed the aux lights since, Stedi is in storage and BD's were sold long ago.
Ideally to get more distance out of any lighting setup, one needs to mount lights atleast head light level or above it and also simultaneously avoiding any reflection from your bonnet if you plan to use any roof mounted lightbar.

So you need a light which can create a beam width of 20meters approximately from 80 to 200 meters from your vehicle considering one-side of a six lane highway.

I know 5000K color temp is very comfortable for the eyes when you drive, I have experienced myself on my bike rides with baja lights.

In addition to your Stedi ST3301 18.6inch light bar
Following are my suggestions for long range combined with 5000K color temperature

1. Stedi TypeX evo spot beam get you the most distance
2. Bajadesigns onX6+ 10inch spot beam get you upto 185meters
3. 2 Diodedynamics SS3 max pods in driving beam will give 180+ meters
4. Morimoto Big banger HXB(6000Ktemp)in Spot beam will reach 800meters at 1lux, but at 10 lux I don't know exactly till how many meters it can shine, it will definitely be more than 200meters.
I would recommend you to try out both spot and combo beam to finally arrive at your best lighting setup.
5. Lazer Lamps UK SENTINEL 9'' ELITE is also really good but Lazer lights are pretty expensive in my opinion.5000Ktemp.

I have not yet installed lights on the Vehicle yet, it is going to take sometime because, I'm waiting for my friend to bring the Aux lights switch module /controller from Singapore.

Once I'm done with my setup on Vehicle I'll surely post the images

I assume then, you travel at 45kph on the NH. If not some day you’ll go under a parked truck without its hazards on. I’m not advocating light bars at all, but please for your own safety use high beams on highways or else stay under 45kph.

We drive in India and need to acknowledge the unique driving conditions for our own safety.

Hey @VizagRider, been following this thread for a while. Did you manage to get a hold of the lights and upgrade the same?

Would love to see if you have made any changes to the car.

Hello
I have fitted the lights, here is the image below.

I had to deviate from my original plan of fitting all the lights behind the grill.
The light bar was mounted outside with the help of brackets,
I do not have a good camera which could replicate the actual light output so haven't posted any output images.
The light output from the Lightbar is good, but overall I haven't achieved my goal of replicating the light output same as projector in terms of light spread and uniformity.
The 3 Pods are really under performing, as most of the light output is getting blocked and I'm unable to adjust the vertical angle as well to adjust the throw.

Next steps-
1. Will be leaving 1 single driving beam pod in the center and will move the other 2spot beam pods near my orvms.
2. I have made up my mind to do projector retrofit in my headlights.- Currently in planning phase.

Thank you.

Love the sail panel bracket.
Who makes it?
is it a custom fabrication that you've designed?

That Sail panel bracket is for Subaru, which can be used for forward lighting or ditch lighting without any light reflecting of the bonnet.
I Have taken that design for inspiration to design a bracket for XUV700.
I Can design the bracket but need to see who can laser cut and do bending in india for me.
