Horrible experience at Detailing Mafia, Mall of India (Noida)

Sharing my horrid experience with Detailing Mafia so that BHPians can avoid the suffering.

First, Nobody picks up on the number mentioned! I still land up there on 31.1.23 at 545 PM for washing and polishing of my black Creta, which despite the Modesto BC08 ceramic coating and my washing & covering routine, had accumulated swirl and scuff marks.

I took a Glow package which includes car wash, polishing, engine steam clean and roof cleaning at Rs 5000. Get a call at 830 PM that my car is ready. Upon inspection I a see that dirt is still there on alloys, tyre wells, front and rear bumper. Moreover the roof, engine bay had not been touched and were dirty. Managers were like Oops. I personally stood there for 45 mins and directed the staff to clean the car properly.

All I got in the end for the horrible experience was an apology, and a complimentary car wash next time. No compensation for the shoddy work and waste of time. Paid Rs 5000 in full. I would be mad to visit Detailing Mafia again for anything. They have zero customer service , management skills, trained staff. They are literally a mafia running a detailing scam and selling memberships.

Why did you pay them? Did you asked them for discount after seeing the state of the car and shoddy work done? Whether you go back or not, they sucked you up this time and there will be more one time customers through their course of ownership. Keeping quiet at the moment is what emboldens them.

These so called branded detailers are worse than individually owned, who have no brand recall so they work harder, should go to them and state your requirements clearly. Don't hesitate to window shop. There is a newly opened detailing mafia workshop in my city and seeing the state of the workshop(congested), the MASS washing centre(mine does brushless) looks much better.

They got their name right but forgot to keep this slogan: "If you don't like our detailing, we will shoot you"!

What's next? Tyre Terrorists?

I think we should have our own Team-Bhp ratings just like Google reviews for all such companies in a single place where we can search before using their services. It will be more credible than anonymous Google reviews in my opinion.

I gave them an earful, but they were not budging from charging me in full. I paid because it was already around 930 PM (took an hour to fix their shoddy work

) and I was not keen on picking an argument with 5-6 dudes in a mall-basement parking.

Absolutely! I hope more BHPians can post their reviews for detailers, and even repair shops and tyre shops. Google reviews are easily gamed.

Disclaimer first - I have nothing to do with Detailing mafia in any capacity aside from being a very satisfied customer.

DM I think use a franchise model and rather than make blanket assertions that they are a scam or branded detailers are a scam, I think we should definitely consider the fact that some of these might be pathetic?

I use the DM in Anna Nagar in Chennai and have been doing so since the month they opened, so that's like 5 odd years. Every single time they go out of their way to ensure a thorough job. I have done

1) PPF for 2 of my cars
2) wash and wax packages
3) full interior steam packages

I have gotten also to know the franchise owner and the crew and they always ensure a 100% effort.

Only once I think I went back, as there was slush in alloys still and the very next day they did a full wash again for free.
