Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

So finally after the clutch replacement, I took the car out for a spin. The car feels so quick, peppy and responsive now. The clutch pedal has become very soft. I am enjoying the car even more.

As I mentioned earlier it's a 12 yr old car. It is better to get some parts replaced on time. So post-monsoon I will be getting the suspension bushes replaced and whatever else is required. See you with something new soon.

Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

As most of us are aware that any car that is more than a decade old needs more attention.
After all, age needs to be considered. But if we keep doing the maintenance promptly and don't let the problem aggravate, we can happily enjoy the car.

As you all must have seen in the previous post we got the clutch replaced. The car is running great after that. I took the car out for a spin and suddenly heard a weird cracking Sound from the underbody. It was the silencer pipe. It broke from the back side of the muffler. Luckily the rear sway bar stopped the pipe from falling to the ground.

Muffler already has a good amount of support to worry about.

I took the car to a repair shop this morning to check if it can be fixed or if I need to buy a new end can.

So after a complete check, we found that the problem can be fixed by welding the pipe and the muffler.

So we started the process. Pictures are as follows.

Muffler goes back into the car.

Some extra supports were welded.

The entire job cost me Rs.700/-.

Time to leave

Next will be an under-body coating.

Can you share the name and contact number of this person. I am also interacting with one person from Bhopal for sourcing some parts. Hope he is not the same person.

What a great thread! Congratulations! It may not be the quickest, but this is one car that really holds up despite the years, and is still a hoot to drive. Unfortunately, I have to let mine go later this year because of the NGT guidelines in Delhi. I now drive it at every opportunity.

I am looking for part number of o rings for throttle body as I need to clean it. I am scared that it might break during this service. Any idea from where I can source it?

Is this the part you are looking for? MD608806?

If so, shows that you can order on BoodMo, but it's coming from UAE with one month delivery.

Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

Today I decided to get the long-awaited work done.
The front left was making a weird noise. I got it checked and hence we ordered the steering ball joint and tie rod ends.

At first, I thought the left steering ball joint was bad too but today when we closely inspected we found that the current one is absolutely fine so I decided to not change them. But the tie rod ends were gone. Sharing the pictures for reference.

So time to install the new Ends.

Once the job was done I took the car for Wheel Alignment, Balancing and periodic rotation of the wheels.

Finally, that weird noise is gone. It feels great when the car runs the way it should.

Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted any updates.
As I got a little busy with work and also I took a road trip from Mumbai to Dalhousie and back with family. (not in Cedia)

After coming back from the trip I decided to give some time to Cedia. I had something in mind, already.
I have been having a set of 16" alloy wheels kept in my Godown for a long time. Frankly, I forgot I had them. Those are multi-PCD wheels that I used on my Honda City Type 2.
I had used them on 100x4 PCD but was not sure if they fit 114.3x4. Hence, I brought them home to test fit on Cedia.
Lucky me, it worked.

So I got them washed to prepare them for the next step. FYI that's my Innova on the lift, getting washed.

Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

After the wash, my brother and I, with the help of my Dad, removed all the old paint from these alloy wheels using a paint stripper. Unfortunately, we all were working on it so no one could take a picture of it.

After removing most of the old paint, we sent them for sandblasting to remove the leftover paint from every corner.

Later we got them powder coated in gloss white.

We packed them well and kept them in boxes to avoid scratches. Time to buy new tyres.

Re: Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia | Additional equipment, parts, maintenance & more

Before buying the tyres and installing the new alloys, I wanted to fix a few things.

The car's power steering rack was leaking oil. The front suspension stabilizer bushings needed replacement and the front caliper pin had gone bad.

Hence we got all the work done before putting on the tyres and alloys.
