Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

Went through this thread, but I'm more confused with so many names now: COIDO, Michelin, Goodyear, ResQ tech, VIAIR, ROGER...

Initially I was zeroing in on Michelin 12266 - but seems it has 1 year warranty compared to some of the others.

I have a BR-V, and I'm going to go for a long drive soon. Can someone suggest a good, durable, but not-so-pricey (like the VIAIR 90P) tyre inflator please?

This one seems to have pretty good reviews, and is less pricey too. Is it good?

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

Does anyone have a tyre inflator in Pune/Bangalore that I can borrow for a week starting end of September 2018?

Just ordered Windek 1902 from Amazon after going though all the reviews. It is now available for 1566 in the Great Indian Sale. IMO this is a good buy at this price point.

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

Had a different experience recently.

After routine top-up using portable inflator in morning, I found front left tyre almost flat when I went to drive the car later in the day. I knew that car hasn't moved, so it can't be a puncture, it could be either a mischief by someone or valve leaking air. I connected portable inflator & it showed tyre pressure as 9psi (should have been 32psi). I filled air to 32 psi again & drove off. Observed that tyre pressure for next few days & didn't find any pressure drop.

Learning: It was definitely an operator error on my part. Valve pin would have remained in pressed condition, perhaps I was bit slow while removing, hence that air leak. After using portable inflators for more than 10 years, I wasn't expecting such an operator error .

I've had this exact issue with one of my tyres, although mine happens when I get air filled at the petrol bunk. The rear right tyre will be always deflated the next day, whenever I get air filled at the bunk and this has happened, without a fault, for last 6-7 times now. I fill it up with my inflator and it stays filled. Now, I have stopped getting air filled at the bunks because of this.

Michelin 12290 Tyre Pressure Gauge with Keyring & ResQTech Micro Tyre Inflator

Picked up theses two products from Amazon:-

ResQTech Micro Tyre Inflator

Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump-resq-tech.jpg

The inflator is quite powerful and I have used it regularly to top up the air in my cars as well as the bike. It takes hardly a minute to top up a tyre. Haven't tried 0 to optimum yet for a flat tyre. The small form factor and the fact that it comes with an attachment to connect it on the bike battery makes it great for bikes.

The Digital Tyre Gauge is very accurate and quite handy. The hook provided makes it easy to attach it to one's car/bike keys and that's a great advantage. The LED lights in both the products help in low light/ dark conditions.

Here is a video that reviews both these.

Cheers !

When did you pick up the items? Reason for asking is that both are currently unavailable.

During the Diwali sale on Amazon. Got a discount too . Surprising that it's no longer available.

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

My query is not about from where to get it but from where do I get it repaired? I have a Resqtech inflator which I carried around for 2 years in my long drives for emergencies but was never actually used. Today I thought of giving it a try at home but the device did not power up. I called ResQtech customer care and was informed that the fuse needs to get replaced. Can anyone point me where I can I get the fuse replaced in Bangalore (preferably nearby Marathalli / Bellandur areas)?

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

Am interested in picking up an inflator to replace my aging Rs. 399/- local inflator. After Going through a lot of reviews I think the ResQtech seems the best. Also confused about the Michelin Heavy duty one. I need a good one as I fix my punctures on my own. Can anyone guide as to the difference between these 2.

Also any good Hydraulic jack? I own an Alto, City and Mobilio. So a 2 ton should be good.

I went through a similar situation and got myself the Windek model.

https://www.amazon.in/Windek-RCP_AL1...s%2C291&sr=8-2

I would have suggested you go for this or Resqtek (their support will be better, if you face any issue), but for the price, Windek seems to get your the same result. Resqtek is double that of Windek

As for the jack, why aren't you using the OEM one that came with each car?

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

I do use the screw type jack. But I feel the hydraulic one will be faster and easier. Something like this.
https://www.amazon.in/VRINDA-VRP-01-...s%2C423&sr=8-8
My concern with not using a heavy duty one is the heating when filling from a flat. My current one has to be switched off every 10 mins to allow it to cool.
