Re: Xiaomi's Mi Tyre Inflator

I have bought the portronics portable air pump. Its like Mi only, but cheaper and with bigger battery (4000 mah). I had got it for 2400, now price seems higher, but they will offer discounts during sales.

I use it to check and fill air before long trips and keep it charged as a back-up in case of puncture. Came in handy when I had a puncture and had to fill air in space saver tyre to 60 psi.

I find it very convenient and easy to use. We will hardly ever use it to fill tyre from 0 psi so it won't take 13 mins. It hardly take 2-3 minutes/tyre to top-up the air. Being portable was important for me as I travel with my small kid who has a bad habit of pulling wire.

I feel this is a must have accessory.

Re: Xiaomi's Mi Tyre Inflator

Good suggestion Dracoon! Portronics is fast becoming a reliable brand and the number of phone mounts on bikes from them is outnumbering the RAM mounts we usually see. I have one too and its in original shape since the day it came. No screws coming off/mount loosening etc. It has endured the vibrations of a Classic 350 for 2 years and the phone is none the worse for wear. Will give this a try if I dont find the MI one comfortable. How is the noise levels on the device?

Thanks to the excellent video from AmitStallion, the racket it makes is much more than my Himalayan on startup. Probably a no-no from my side.

Re: Xiaomi's Mi Tyre Inflator

I got my MI tyre inflator delivered yesterday, it does take a good 2 minutes to inflate my Scorpio tyre from 20 to 33 psi. Makes a racket and almost drowns out the clatter of the mHawk. Bike tyres can be filled quite fast in 30 seconds or so.

Inflator turns off automatically every few seconds once it starts blinking. Looks like battery replacement or inflator replacement are the options.

Did anyone try replacing battery from Mi service centre?
