Thanks a lot for caring man-but it keeps getting worse here in shimla as more cars are piling up everyday-i have hardly parked my k 10 near my house just a few times,it just stays in college parking-even small cars are a headache in shimla to take care of!!!!

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

Truely said it is an evergreen car and still serves all its purposes quite well.

Nope not at all
I like the contrast in colors that the alloys the blacken pillars and bumpers create
Its Unique

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

Also get Zen type RVM's on both sides , that would finish the look of your perfect looking 800 and you're right this DUDE can take a cross country dash as good as any other car

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

@harishnayak

i tried for zen mirrors but it does not look that good as the one which are currently there they are expensive and mounting points dont match perfectly so no point changing them.

Oh yes you can say that for the reliability part in my 6 years of ownership it only had one breakdown thats due to broken timming belt at 32k kms and other than that it is the most reliable car, infact it helped my OHC AT many a times for jump starting cause OHC had current leakage problem which was solved later.

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

Hi,

Some one told me that Omni camshaft can be fitted in an 800 engine for better valve lift. Can the engine compression be increased by shaving off metal from the head gasket seating?

Is it true? Can someone clear this for me (I'm mechanically challenged)

Still unable to visit Coimbatore for the Alto/Zen lower arm, strut & damper. Will post the picture/price/ride/handling comparison after I find some time for the swap.

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

Much of my irritation in driving my M800 on long drives is the lack of cubby holes and bottle holders. Has anyone here modded the interiors to add thes little conveniences in their cars? I find it difficult to just keep a bottle of water without letting it roll all over the floor.

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

You get Gear consoles which have a bottle or can holder in them.
Its a accessorie try finding it out at a car accessories shop. Its hard to come by even i am looking for the same since quite a while now.

Re: The Maruti 800 Mod Thread

I have already fixed that, but it is not enough and the bottle-holder that can be pulled out is very flimsy. It was made a long time ago and seems to be the only aftermarket console addition to the M800 ever since the car was launched! Even the empty space below is ridged to hold cassettes in place, and it even has a cutout for the radios that used to sell then! that's how old it is!

Or you could go to fabricator who can work with firberglass and you can get made custom bottle holder, it might be expensive though.

I suppose MASS was selling Altos console as an accessorie for 800?

The "cup holders" in the Alto are suitable only for soda/cola cans. The Alto 800cc doesn't even have the dashboard coin holder which the 800DX had & I have to stuff the change in the ashtray. I am also thinking along the same lines to increase storage spaces for small items in my car.
