Hi Guys,

My membership has been accepted and this is my first post. Feeling great.

After reading all your posts, I had been to Marvin Leather to enquire about Art leather covers for my Spark and Dads Civic. Was actually quite impressed with the showroom and the way they treated me and my dad.

For the Civic we selected "mushroom" colour for the seats, arm rest, door trims. The person there said he can't do it for the Gear Knob, Hand brake and the Steering wheel(already is leather wrapped). So finally after a long negotiation he settled for Rs 12000/-. We have agreed and they will do the work on Saturday.

For my Spark(with beige interiors), I selected "butterscotch" colour along with "Dark Red". Its a complete package except the gear knob(gear is spherical and hence the leather can't be stiched). So for the Seats, Door trim, hand brake and the steering wheel the best price he offered was Rs 9000/-. Will be leaving my car on monday to get it done.

Wanted to share this information with you guys. Hope it helps.

Cheers,
Anant.

Sounds like a good deal, I have seen couple of cars that are done at Marvin.

Few qtns: Are you getting door pads, hand brake and Steering cover in real leather? please do not do it in Art leather (PU).

No Latheesh, he said it wont be necessary to put it in real leather.

Any particular reason you ask me not to put it in PU??

It is difficult to get good finish in door pad if you use PU as pad area is very small on Spark doors. If he is confident go ahead and get it done on door pad.
But on steering and hand brake better go for real leather. Abrasion is more in these two areas and you need to use real leather on these two parts

look very racy - the maroon could have been done away with - dark brown would have been better(my opinion)

Hey Latheesh,

Thanks yar, these have been done by Marvin as you had suggested earlier in the thread. These people were doing the new spark(beige interiors) for the first time, they didnt have the hand brake pattern so they've told me to come after 2 days. Marvin guys treated us really well, without any fuss.
Thanks to you who suggested Marvin.

Regards,
Anant

@Vigsom,

My car exteriors are what GM call as Blazing red.. so had that colour on the seats as well.

regards,
Anant.

Exactly 9k. Which includes Seat covers from art leather - hand brake, door trims and steering from genuine leather.

A nice site if you want to play with colours before getting your bespoke covers made.

@bigman,
Excellent findings. I was actually on the look out for such site, which gives a color combination, design, etc.
This would definitely help me in deciding which color and design combination for my car.
Thanks a lot for sharing the info

I am buying used Honda City Zx (2008 model) and planning to get leather covers done with Stanley or G-Sport (they seems to be the priority order as per our forum members).

I tried to call numbers listed in stanleyboutique.com (hyderabad) but they seems to be disconnected. How come such reputed vendor doesn't have phones updated on their web site.

The web site showing office is in Somajiguda, but I remember seeing one at Liberty junction.

Now I need some help from you guys, Can someone suggest good place to check G-Sport or any other good leather covers shop.. I can stretch by budget till 20K.

I tried to search, someone suggested xenex in Madhapur but someone else also mentioned they screwed up his car.

I am kind of confused. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

hey guys, i am planning for art leather seat covers for my scorpio 7 seater. my budget is 6-8k max, but have a few queries in mind-

1) should i go in for the company stitch type or just a slip on type?
2) do such leather seats get too hot in summer?
3) whats the general life of such seat covers?

most importantly, where can i get it done in mumbai?

i really prefer fabric over art leather but leather looks cooler & customization options are more. so i art leather too impractical for our climate?

i need a good fitting & quality stuff at a very good price. i will prefer branded stuff if it falls in my budget. does gsport have its branch in mumbai? i think stanley is just too expensive.
