re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

A little OT comment.. But going through this thread I was just wondering..

In this thread we click photos of cars that we think are modified in weird and wacky ways. In a majority of these cases, they belong to someone we don't know.

What if one of these "someone" turns out to be a fellow BHP-ian? I know this is a remote possibility, as I don't think any BHP-ian would modify their vehicle in a way that seems funny or wacky to others.. But just considering the possibility, What would happen then???

Chaxy the car you mentioned belongs to a well known T-Bhpian here "HILLRAM" who also owns a fleet of other cars, and it is no freaky or crazy decal job on it, this car if you check the decal they are appropriate and relevant to the history of Corsa and German Racing teams.

To each his own. If you go back to the 80's and 90's generation, many people including young affluent college going types had a motorbike like an Ind Suzuki or Rx 100 or KB100 or perhaps an M800 or a modified fiat or if they were well off, maybe even a gypsy. A very large number of these were modded beyond recognition with add ons, strange growths and copious quantities of stickers etc. These mod jobs certainly seem tacky and kitschy to us now in hindsight, but those were the deprived days when a silly faux Turbo sticker could elicit significant excitement amongst the chaps on the sidelines (like yours truly). Hence what may seem odd to some of us who may be better read or more evolved, could be the pinnacle of style and the essence of cool to someone else, who may be less well informed! Why even a humble 50cc modded enfield explorer or silver plus or BSA Bond used to excite us poor deprived young devils. So did the first gen M800 which we thought at the time, was the ultimate driving machine which was and would always be relatively accessible to us! I shudder to admit in hindsight today, what I thought was cool back in the 80's when I was in my early-mid teens. Just go back to one of those kitschy 1980's music videos to see what I am driving at!

All I wanted to ask the owner of this car was "Why this Kolaveri?"

Apart from being outright ugly, look at the position of the rear number plate and the light thats supposed to illuminate it.

Not sure how the owner even tolerates this one, looks are subjective, but this is the definition of something that has gone horribly wrong, anyone can say that.

Look even the car is sad faced seeing its new avatar. But if I can take a positive out of this mod is the color, though green is not my favorite atleast this shade is better light green

1) If not for that spoiler, it is a perfect dining table for those late night, road side food stalls.
2) What are those bumpers. "JOD TOD ke BOL"
3) Why does this car has LHD version wipers?

For the money this nice gentlemen spent on his KOLAVARI version, he could have got some HOT wheels with mag alloys & HD lights ans some still to spare for interiors.

Raab rakha.
