^^^ What is the base car?

Perfect fit in this thread - weird and wacky!!

But I appreciate the amount of efforts he has put-in - especially for the front doors.

Looks like a lancer.

What a disaster. The guy must have spent a a fortune on getting his car trashed.

Yuck!!!!! If he hadn't "reddened" the headlights and put those pop-up lights, the result would've been an imitation of the Evo X.
Anyway, as Nathan says, he's put in effort, but the result is horrendous.

Edit:
Here's a Bimal "special edition" swift. Not sure if it's wacky but I guess it's weird.
Esp. the alloys (by plati) and the silver grille. And someone actually bought it.

What a way to ruin a Lancer. Pathetic tastes people have!!
Lancers/Ikons/Esteems/Accents seem to be the hot favorites for these crowds, as they can be had cheaper..blame the poor resale value.

Found an Ikon for sale in some classifieds, done up on the similar lines.

The rear is hideous.

BTW Now I know where the 'Blown Diffuser' inspiration came from .

The base car here is definately a Lancer. Front-end looks very much similar to the proautomod's lancer (evo 10 conversion) other than those disastrous headlamp modifications. Forget looks, what beam must he be getting from those decades old round headlamps, and what visiblity of road must he be getting throu those. Rear end definately he must be using it as a shoe-rack while the car is in his garrage.

Well, I saw this Honda CR-V at Panvel while I was on my way to Alibaug. Need your review guys, I personally find the rear to be quite Ok, but the front end seems completely messed-up to me.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

The red Lancer isnt that bad actually. A few improvements, and some finesse in the design will make it look like a pretty well modded car. Some simple improvements, like the head lamp cluster ( which is a disaster ), slight improvements and probably blackening out the rear "diffuser" and "wing".

The quality of the body work looks pretty decent to me.

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

wow, you must have scared him withh all those cameras!!
papa-paparazzi!!

I agree, the rear looks good, but that vacant slot for the "other" exhaust is accusatory........
Incidentally, saw a similar mod on the front on a safari today at shanti path...will try and catch him definitely the next time.
It had that audi beard as well.

OMG. WHat in the world did they do to the Lancer. Everything else could have been digested, but the lamps sticking out. God have mercy

Super Spoilt CRV as well.

By the way, could not take a pic, will try another day, saw an Esteem this morning parked in a lane just behind the axa building on the road to Silk Board. I avoid the main road, and take the narrow lane to reach madiwala junction. The car suposedly modifed with a load of stickers. I see this car daily, but only today one sticker caught my eye

"WRC"
World Really Champ

Hmmm this may be the inspiration for the 'Shoe-rack'

Except for the silver grille, I would say it looks good. The Plati alloys give ti a sporty look.

The front of the lancer reminded of a frog ready to leap

Yeah, quite possibly. I wanted to post a similar pic.

@sagar iswalkar: Isn't it risky to drive and click at the same time? The photo taken by your friend sitting in the rear seat would be good enough to post here

The spoiler for the red lancer looks more like a book-shelf ! I think the entire body has been fabricated out of metal.
Would it not add like another 50Kg's to the body weight ?

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

The red on the Lancer and it's alloys makes it look like it's made of wax!
Though, if made sober on the whole i.e paint, spoiler, bonnet skirts, bumpers et al, it would look cool.

I like that swift. I agree, the alloys don't go well with it, but similar ones look fantastic on the red Figo owned by fellow member btirthankar!
