Your A.S.S will not be cheaper, for a full bumper re-paint, you can be looking at a bill ~Rs. 2,500 (labor/materials included)

If you use the can as per the instructions given (spray from a distance of at least 12-15 inches from the surface) you will get amazing results. Also, remember, two light coats are better than one heavy coat.

sir you could go to a nearby maruti workshop and inquire about it there. i am sure that would be helpful. or you could even visit a nearby painter for the inquiry.

I also have a minor scratch near about 2 - 2.5 inches long on the left side of passenger door. I have just ordered the blazing red variant from compaint. Waiting for the delivery. Will post the results after the package comes and i give it a go

My dealer 'Modi Hyundai' asked for Rs.5000 for the bumper re-paint. I decided to look elsewhere. I was little apprehensive when my cousin dropped the car at a mechanic in a distant suburb. He touched it up in few hours. I don't know from where he got the paint but now my car looks as good as new. Charges: 1000/-

One just have to know right people outside authorized service centres.

Virkam Sharma from Com-Paint

Hi,

I have been late in replying to most of the queries and sorry for not replying to the private inbox questions i get in this forum as i am not a regular forum visitor.

Just to inform you that whatever shades are available / developed are immediately put on the website and intimated through a scroller on the website's homepage.

We have put a new video of touchup demo done on Honda City white Color. It's a shorter one and can be easily downloaded. We are in the process of changing the look of our Value Pack box and the new one will be out later by this month or next.

Most of the poeple ask me about WILL the product MATCH?? Well my answer to this is YES - 99% it will if your do it the right way. Some senoir BHP ians have written and i absolutely agree to it 2 Lighter Coats is better than a heavy coat.

DO NOT WORRY IF YOU DON'T GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME...Remove the paint using the Com-Merge and then re touchup the area. OUr product doesn't damage the Car surface.

Secondly, India being a dustyy country, it is essential to maintain the area after the touchup using a rubbing compound and polish to maintain the shine of the Acrylic Paint at par with the PU Paint.

Here are a few steps for a good touchup job:

1. Clean the surface and smoother it using emery paper 1000 no or more
2. Shake the can properly and spray a few puff's in air to make the paint start flowing.
3. DO the touchup
4. Apply merger within 3 minutes of touching up (wet on wet)
5. Apply rubbing compound after 24 hrs..
6. Polish the surface

Please feel free to use the product and our customer support team is available to solve your queries.

Thanks,

Vikram Sharma

Has anyone ordered / used spray paint from com-paint

I read about com-paint in zigwheels newspaper and ordered a silky silver shade for my Baleno, as I have some scratches on the bumper.
But today I received a mail from the com-paint stating that the shade ordered is currently not in stock and will update me the status of order as soon as they have it.
I however have asked them to let me know the exact date for availability or refund my money back.
I want to know if anyone other fellow member have used this product and is it worth buying it? I have had a mixed experience of online shopping the dent king available on telebrands is utter useless while the scratch removal pen does works on some hairline scratches.
However, if anyone is planning to buy it please hold on to your urges of making your car scratch free till I receive my order and use it.

I have tried com-paint, but found the shades dont match exactly. Picked up the com-paint value pack from local outlet - did not go on-line.

The paint turned out to be darker. Also, the demo & the instructions are not that simple to follow - it takes more effort to get a proper job done.

My feedback : com-paint should be ok for bumpers etc, but not for body panels.

What does two lighter coats mean?

Does it mean we make two passes in stroking motion on the area or does it mean we apply another coat after the touch up coat dries up.

I just touched up my car this morning. The key is to keep a distance and first try on scrap metal surfaces first. We all have a mindset that the closer we keep the nozzle, the lesser it will go to surrounding areas.

The paint matches like as if a pro did it, with shade diff being visible only if you reallly squint your eyes. I have touched up the door(as always, some stupid scooterist) and the A-pillar near the leftmost edge(MASS did it).

I will post the touched up pics tomorrow. Also, can anyone tell me how to get the same glossy effect back.Should I use some spray on lacquer as me and my car don't have the time to do the day long wax & polish

@ JustCause : Did you use the Com-paint touch up paint? Pictures would be great.
I would really love to touch up a couple of scratches on the bumper on my car. I guess com-paint doesnt have the colour for my car. I need Naples gold for my OHC.
Are any other brands of touch up paint available in India ?

Here are the pics, Please ignore the pink tinge as its from the building exterior paint reflection. If you look closely, you can see.

If you want a more detailed pic, I will take them in an empty lot .

Do it again sir, don't fret. Get some 3M 1000grit emery paper and wet sand the surface till you get feeble white coloration and then apply. The trick is to apply it on the main primer(white below original paint coat) and also to lightly sand the area around so that it blends perfectly. What you did is that you kept the can too close to the car(like I did at first). If you can, I advise practicing on scrap metal and matching finish.Do the process in full light & not in a shed. Also, how old was your can when you applied?

Mine, I got in April & is of Dec2009 make.

I have learnt quite a lot about my car & DIY from Monty9991 & your threads/posts.

PS-Was thinking of facelifting dash, but painters here ask for about 1500INR even if I sand & prime the dash.
