Guys asked my dealer about the central locking for Swift Ldi. He declined and told there is an issue with the nippon central locking as it results in blownout ECM's. Is that true, any member facing issue's with central locking or ECM issues( equipped with Central Locking) in thier Ldi?

@horsepower

I got central locking fixed on my LDi two weeks ago. I got the basic Autocop kit and so far there have been no problems. I got this fixed at an after-market installer. Keeping my fingers crossed. An ECU blowout will mean 40k, and may not even be covered by warranty!

It's not true since the installation of Autocop/Xenos is never ever done by the MUL service chaps. And all the dealerships at Cochin stock Autocop, Xenos & Nippon systems. You can go to the authorised Autocop/Xenos center and get it installed from there and the warranty will remain intact.

It's up to you. Both are equally good.

I have fiited a Xenos Central locking system in my LDi. It cost me 4200/- and it has features like remote locking, keyless entry, security for the audio system, reverse horn (which can be muted in places like hospitals/courts) alongwith a lifetime warranty. The same was fitted at the xenos galleria at Chennai.

Yes there are such kits available from Autocop. But even if you get any other system you can always fit a relay that will handle the automatic winding up of windows.

Can you give the details of this relay. I would love to have my windows wind up automatically when I lock the car.

Re: Remote Central Locking for Swift

Hey people,

I am reviving this old thread. I have a 10 year old swift vxi with original key operated central locking system.

For last 9 years, I was using Xenos branded remote locking system. But the remote controllers have been failing every 1.5 to 2 years.

Now I have an option to install new remotes costing me around ₹1800 or installing autocop branded central locking system for ₹4000.

However I am also getting a brand called black cat on amazon for about ₹2500 for which I will have to spend another ₹500 for installation.

I would humbly like to request an honest opinion on which brand of central locking system to go for. And also any review about black cat brand.

Thanks in advance.

Could you please provide the model# of the same?
What other features should one expect in a remote lock?
