As per Xenon Planet, relay is needed only if we are using 55W ballasts.

Please check this FB link (Thanks to Dr Parvez) for more details about wiring, installation of XP Micro.

re: XP Micro: Bi-Xenon Projector Foglamps. EDIT: Terrible experiences

Introducing the 3 inch Micro Fogs. Got them installed today. Will be using it over the weekend and then post a detailed review. These do fill up the whole fog lamp area.

3.0 inch is perfect fit and good to see that there is no gap around. 100 percent OEM looks .

Waiting for your detailed review with couple of output shots.

re: XP Micro: Bi-Xenon Projector Foglamps. EDIT: Terrible experiences

Got the XP Micro installed last Saturday and here are my observations:

Pros
  1. Excellent output with super bright high beam
  2. Simple and easy installation
  3. 3 inch micros are a snug fit and gives OEM look
  4. Tested them in heavy rain and had no issues with visibility
  5. XP 35 watt CanBus ballast with Osram H11 4300k HID bulbs
  6. Support from Rajat regarding issues (Owner of XP)
  7. I would highly recommend this product if the installation is properly
Cons (some of them are vehicle specific)
  1. 3 inch micros do not leave any room to fit the cowls. I had to do away with the silver cowls that came factory fitted. They tried filing/cutting the cowl manually but of no use. 3 inch micros just doesn't leave any space
  2. They did not have the cutter which is used to cut the cowls/shrouds. Said its with the manufacturer for repairs
  3. Ecosport has high mounted fog lights and there is little the installer could do to lower the beam
  4. As seen in pictures, the low beam is way too high for my liking and XP has assured me to come up with a solution to lower it
  5. Installation experience was below my expectations and one of black cowl locks were broken while the installer took them out. You can see the gap between the bumper and cowl. This could have been avoided if done carefully
  6. The installation center had no per-determined cutoff levels to set the high and low beam. Everything was a guess work when it came to alignment. Had to travel back to the center again for alignment. I am not happy how high the low beam is and am sure I'll hear a few passing me mumbling profanities for blinding them. At the moment, I have decided to use them only on highway
  7. Had to ask the installer to wrap the loose/hanging wires with a tape or zip tie. Else they would have left it hanging all over the engine bay
  8. My setup looks like an LHD cutoff pattern because the installer was tired of adjusting the beam. Right hand is pointed higher than low. They just weren't ready to invest more time in it.
Conclusion - I would still highly recommend this product for the ease of installing and considering the difference it makes while driving in the night. The output absolutely amazing and one would be really satisfied after spending money on this product. For me, the support and assurance from Rajat (owner of XP) is the reason I still recommend this product despite a sub-par experience at the installation center. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

Thank you Sir for the honest feedback.

Output is brilliant just that you'll need to spend more time focusing the same to avoid any glare issues.

Getting a new shroud?

I am stuck on the same point as the 3 inch unit is too tight a fit and needs some cutting, repositioning and grinding for it to just fit-in.

I'll too update my status soon on the thread.

PS: If you don't mind, can you please post images of the Osram H11 bulbs?!

re: XP Micro: Bi-Xenon Projector Foglamps. EDIT: Terrible experiences

The output is amazing and it looks like huge improvement over stock headlamps. I thought XP provides CN light H11 bulb. Did you get Osram H11 from XP and what's the cost?

Sad to hear about the installation. It could have been done better. As you said, the stock fog lamps position on Ecosport is pretty high and low beam of Micro can blind oncoming traffic. Do update after XP figures out the solution.

Cheers!!

I'll connect with Ford to get a replacement of the stock fog lamp cowl. The gap may let in a lot of dust and water may seep in easily. The bulbs were already inside the projector when the box was opened and I only had a look at the back side of it to confirm the brand. Missed out on taking pictures but will do so in case I open them for realignment.

Is this what is missing from the fog lamp shroud (Read chrome cover)?

Please do get the gap closed for peace of mind.

Please do try and get images of that. If it is worthy I'll source the Osram H11 too.

Sorry for missing out on your question. Yes, mine were Osram H11. The cost after 15% discount for delayed delivery was 13600 for projectors and 2000 for installation.

Exactly! The silver part wasn't fitting in after the micro was installed. I don't think there would be any difference between CN and Osram when it comes to bulb quality. CN is a trust worthy brand in itself. I believe getting Osram H11 was purely availability based and I wouldn't have bothered if it was CN.

Yes, there won't be much difference between Osram and CN light with respect to H11 bulbs. But if it's D2S bulbs.. Osram would be much better than CN Light.

I see both high and low beams on the fog lights where as fog light have only on and off switch , is this wired back to the headlight assembly ?

XP Micro is Bi-Xenon projector and has both high and low beam. Low beam wiring is connected to stock fog lamp socket and high beam wiring of Micro is connected into stock headlight high beam socket.

The illumination looks good! I'm looking for a fix for the poor headlights as well and this seems to be a good solution.

Warranty is void?

Does the headlamp need to be switched on to turn on the projector high beam?

So, combinations are:

Headlight off + Fog lamp low beam
Headlight off + Fog lamp high beam -?
Headlight low beam + Fog lamp low beam
Headlight high beam + Fog lamp high beam
Fog lamp off + Headlight low beam
Fog lamp off + Headlight high beam

Warranty is not void as the stock wiring is not tampered.

It depends on how you do the wiring. Please check the link posted by Bone Collector. He has posted the wiring diagram.

Cheers!!
