paint-safe adhesive for door edge guard?

Hi,
I have got a set of door-edge guards, and want to fit them in a way that they will not come out under normal circumstances, including light pulling [it out].

Question: Is there any adhesive that I can use which will not damage the paint below?

http://www.customautotrim.com/produc...dings/door.htm. Have got the first type in that link: MDGDE-UPF. I would like to use an adhesive atleast on the inner side of the door.
