Hi guys!
I've got myself a small cute Alto which I use mostly for my 'in city' drives. It's currently shod with 13" 5.5J alloys with a 5 spoke design. The wheel looks pretty good and ride also same.
The bad thing is the brake callipers are seen thru the alloys and it's really an eye sore. I've decided to paint the thingy! Yes, like in NFS.
Is it advisable?
What type of paint? What method?
Most sports car has those colored I guess and hence should be fine. Anyway, I am gonna get my colored soon.

I did the same for my Baleno, took off front tyres and carefully gave the calipers a coat of red DuPont auto paint with a small Camlin artists brush. I bought 100 ml of the paint and used it direct, no thinner. It dries in five minutes. Wash the brush in a little universal thinner and you're set. Mine has lasted eight months and still not peeled off.
No harm in getting them painted, as long as you don't fiddle with the "brake pad" area.

actually we are painting, but internationally it is actually a sticker on the calper,hece they look like new all the time

Hey! That's a great idea.
Now, please explain what type of sticker? Is it available in India?
I doubt abt teh sticker! Do you knw teh temps the disc assembly attain with a some good drive? How will those sticker take that heat!
Or is it a metal cover for the caliper?? saw it in some shops in blore!
I dont think stickers can take the heat generated by the brakes... It has to be paint.

I do not think so. Are you 100% sure or are you assuming. To the best of my knowledge they are painted using special heat resistant enamel paint which can be cleaned easily and have long lasting gloss. You also get imitation calliper covers made of plastic which I think sell for about Rs1500 a set in Bombay.

it's a paint and i painted them on my bmw, take the wheel off liberally use some cleaning spray and wash off all the brake dust and grime, let it dry off now cover up all the are you dont want painted and spray away

Before someone make another post saying " I have seen the whole disk in red color". I too have seen it and its not paint, teh disk gets to damn heated up and hence it becomes red hot.
Viper; that caliper thingy is a common thingy for all cars?
