I found them on ebay.in (I was looking up for my car: Honda Jazz)

(Hopefully all the links should open.)

The last link is from a company called 'Auto Pearl', this company also sells on Flipkart and Amazon.

I am looking for feedback before I order, also I am planning to look for these in Mumbai as I am there most of next week.

Good hunting.

Comments on their quality and price are also welcome.
Thanks for the update, This looks very interesting, I had used the normal ones (Which did not have removable nets) Though it was effective in reducing the heat and the visibility from outside, It was a huge problem to remove it and put it back on after every toll, Mall parking lots etc. Decided to remove them permanently and get the car tinted, Do get troubled by the cops now, Will give these a shot, At just 1200 if the convenience of heat + Visibility reduction + Legal + Removable net, It should be well worth it. Ordering for my jetta.

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

I had recently - around 2 months back, obtained magnetic sun shades for my wagon R. Cost is Rs 3000/- for a set of 4. There is a problem with one of the magnets in the rear shade, but apart from that, the shades are pretty effective in cutting down the heat, inside the car, especially on long drives with kids in the back seat.

The magnet might have slipped on the opposite side, You can just push it back to the original position and it should just snap into it fine.

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

I had 4 in my Brio. They have left rust marks on the doors. When using them the door doesn't close 100%. It looks as if it is perfectly shut but some water is still able to seep which can result into rusting. Magnetic portion leaves rust where ever it is attached to the car body in longer term.

Thats weird, I had used the same for my polo for about 8 months, That too during the monsoon, But never saw any rusting or any kind of issues with that apart from the magnet sometimes slipping on the other end.

Do these Sun Shades cause any rattling on rough patches of road?
I am interested to buy one of these for the next summers. However, I would not like to introduce any rattle during the driving.

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

Update: Bought magnetic shades for New Jazz from a local vendor in Opera House, Mumbai for Rs550/-.
Fit the car very well and as long as carefully adjusted before closing the door, no rattles.

Side note, I also saw some premium magnetic shades that had very fine mesh and I feel that it would cut out a lot sun and heat, but they were priced at Rs2700/-. I was not willing to spend that much on shades when decent quality was available for Rs550/-!

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

I bought them from a reputed shop in Lajpat Nagar for Honda Brio. Costed me 1.5k. End result is rust wherever the magnets sticks to the car body. Sorry for the clarity as it was night. Use these shades at your own risk.

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

Got these Non-zippered Magnetic Shades from Snapdeal recently.
These fit perfectly on my Ritz and look pretty elegant. But i am not so sure about its effectiveness in cutting out the Heat. These are just Net Material and i do not think they have any Heat Rejection capabilities.

Total Cost : ~ 750 /-

how convenient is it when dealing with toll booths etc - I have to deal with a couple of them every day, and was wondering how convenient it was with these attatched ?

I wont recommend using magnetic sunshades.
I had it on my yeti for 2 weeks before taking them off.
Reason being the magnets scratch the paint and will eventually result in rust where the paint is peeled off. Thankfully i got them off just at the correct time.

Regarding your question, some of the magnetic sunshades come with zipper for the front windows so you can unzip and pay toll conveniently.

I have been using Magnetic sun shades on my XUV from last 8 months bought from Mahindra. It has been really good till date and not faced any issues with the paint peeling off. And to deal with toll booths, it has a provision for driver and passenger to access the tolls, which is nice thoughtful design by Mahindra. You can have a look at them here

I would suggest you to buy from reputed dealer and not from any of the small accessories shop.

Re: Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?

Guys I have been using magnetic sunshades for over 3 years on both my rides. No issues what so ever. The better the quality the better is the fit and finish. For guys who have issues with the paint getting scratched, please select the shades which have a thicker frame which is nicely padded with magnets which do not move much. There are cheaper ones which move inside the thin cloth frame housing these small magnets which will surely scratch the paint. If the shades are removed from time to time, it is also important to store these with care and not have all the 4 shades stacked with magnets sticking to each other. I generally keep a small plastic sheet at places where these magnets stick to each other. Also do not expose these magnets to water. In case they are wet then ensure to dry it completely before storing it or reattaching it back to the window. Now there was a question about how convenient is it at toll booths. There are shades from the front driver and passenger sides which do not cover the entire window but have a small cut in the front just before the side view mirrors. So you can just lower your glass and pay the toll through this small window. Also for the rear glass which is left open, you have shades which come pre cut as per the size of your rear glass and you can just slide these over the glass which will have a snug fit. Attaching few pictures of my car in which I have the shades fixed. I find them totally VFM
