Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

How are autofurnish wiper blades? I am looking to change my 1.5 year old Octavia's blades and came across Hella european and autofurnish on Amazon. Also, what's the correct indication that wiper blades need changing? Will changing them myself hamper any warranty? And what is the correct size for Octavia (new)?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Shreyak.

As per customer reviews, Autofurnish wipers are horrible, so please avoid that. Also Bosch is better than Hella.

You can add Auto Stark to that list too.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

After trying auto furnish blades , i can say that the simple 300 odd bucks Bosch blades are anyday better! Sure the former looks cool with frameless design but the wiping goes for a toss within a month and will start leaving streaks . Switching back to simple Bosch blades again next time

Auto furnish is just a rebranding operation. Browse through their products, and others of a similar nature. Even the demo pictures are the same. I am sure theyre all just shipping in stuff from Guangzhou or such.
Its all a draw of the lot, Ive experienced. 1400 buck Bosch went off in about 4-5 months. Syndicates lasted for a year. But the current ultra unknown frameless have been going good for the past 5 months, and cost just 250 bucks a pop.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Ola señores,

It has been almost a year and a half since I changed the wipers on my 2014 Honda City, and am particularly interested in installing the Bosch Clear Advantage wipers as a replacement. I tried sourcing it from local shops where I reside but have had no luck with the exact configuration (24"/14" or 600mm/350mm driver/passenger side).

I came across this website industrybuying where they are selling Bosch CA wipers. Even the part number mentioned in the website for Honda City is same as that in Bosch's website. But I am unsure of the website's credibility and customer protection against fraud. Have you purchased wipers or anything else from here before?

Thankie for the advise,
KnJr

Not sure about the site you mentioned, but the product is also available on SD - http://www.snapdeal.com/product/bosc...dorCode=Sbfe05
Though the pic has different image the product description says Bosch CA.

They are now getting VC funding from TVS and Murugappa group. Shouldn't be any fraud here

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I had a doubt. When changing the wiper blades, is it ok if we get the replacement which totals to the original wiper size?
For Eg: In the Skoda Rapid, the original was 24inch and 16inch. So theoretically, anything totalling to 40 inch should be ok? Eg:22,18 or 26,14?

The passenger side blade, if longer, will scrape the lining, or maybe even go past the edge of the windscreen. Look at the sweep.

The size of the blades is dependant on a) the length of each arm and b) the angle of sweep. Generally, the passenger side wiper has a larger angle of sweep and that is why it is generally smaller in size than the driver's side wiper blade.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Does using wiper stand help in extending the life of the wiper blade? I have purchased wiper stand after I was told that it helps extending the life of the blade, and reduces the chances of scratches on the windshield glass.

Is that correct? Any disadvantages with using wiper stand?

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Upgraded my GT's Wiper Blades to Hella Curvo, Frame less blades.

Cost:
Driver Side - Rs.575/- (24 inches)
Co-Passenger side - Rs.520/- (16 inches)
Initially I was trying to get Hella Dynaedge Wipers, but I've been informed that they are obsolete, by http://www.epitstop.in/,Bangalore.

True aLY,

@peterjim13,

As I mentioned in my post, I have upgraded to Curvo, not to Dynaedge. I bought them from http://www.epitstop.in/
