re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I wanted to replace OEM wipers after 2.5 years of usage. After reading through multiple online reviews, I decided to try a flat wiper this time - shortlisted BOSCH Aerotwin & Hella Dynaedge.

BOSCH was not available with any dealers in my city and the sales manager from BOSCH confirmed no stock across Maharashtra. Then went ahead with second choice, Hella and bought a pair (24" & 16"). It was installed by one of reputed car accessories seller in my city.

Pros:
1. Luxury looks
2. Good wipe during drizzle and slow running speed

Cons:
1. Juddering noise, which increases with your running speed
2. Leaves streaks on back wipe
3. Costly compared to OEM wipers doing a better job

Overall:
NOT SATISFIED with Hella performance. Now considering to replace them with those provided by car manufacturer.

Especially, if you require longer blades.. stick to the one's provided/used by manufacturer.

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I have recently changed wipers of my Skoda Rapid Elegance to Coozo. Bought it from a local shop for Rs.500. They are pretty decent ones. Wipes are smooth but sometimes makes juddering noise while returning during drizzle. This is the first time I am using beam type / frameless wipers and quite happy with its performance.

Also just wanted to highlight one point if planning to purchase it online. Be very sure regarding the wiper size (driver and passenger side). I have seen online shopping sites mentioning 20" and 18" for Skoda Rapid which is not true. Actual size is 24"and 16".

Hi,

I am located in Pune currently and am searching a shop to purchase Aerotwin wipers for my Laura. Is there a shop near Chandni Chowk/Paud Road that you can recommend

How do you find out the size of the wiper? Where should I look at? Please let me know.

Usually you won't find it in the Car Manual. You would need to actually measure it by using scale. You can either remove the wipers (you will find many references on how to remove and fit the wipers) and measure it or try doing it without removing them, you will get a fair amount of idea on the wiper size.

I could not get them at least in Aundh and Baner area. Not sure if it's available in other regions in Pune. You may want to buy them online. They are available on www.vicky.in Please note I am not associated with this site

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Autotrends and shopclues have a good selection of wiper blades. stay away from the cheap frameless wiper blades. Recently bought Hella wiper blades from shopclues and I am quite satisfied with their performance. Guess this should help some of you looking to buy wipers online.

PS: The wipers are cheaper online too.

Is there a reputed brand like Bosch or Hella available in this size and push button system?

I was forced to buy from Skoda this monsoon as the long brand I could find with this system in the open market last year was syndicate. Those turned out to be of horrible quality. The Skoda original ones costed 4000 a pair!
Hi Sahil, I need these push button style wipers for my Passat. Were you finally able to find them for your Audi?

Thanks

Nope. I am afraid the dealership is your best bet, if its urgent. Or you could try ordering it online from an international website and shipping it. You might save some.

re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Does anyone have any experience with http://www.bosch-car-parts.com/

I came across their website through an indirect link on ebay. They seem like legit Bosch dealers. Any idea?

I've got the similar Hella Dynaedge from www.automotivesoul.com
You can also try contacting the people at www.jazzmyride.com for the AeroTwin model (they sell standard framed Bosch blades online but might be able to source AeroTwins on demand).

I've bought from both these vendors, and have had a good experience in all cases.
