Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Changed my Ertiga's wipers to Syndicate ones. Was using myTvs for around 19 months. Performance was pretty good with those. No judders or streaks. But they just fell apart in the last month. Couldn't find these locally and needed to travel the next day. So bought Syndicates.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Hi Team,
Need help changing wiper blades for Volkswagen Virtus (OEM ones gave up within 6 months!) Noone in service center could guide on the size, so took a tape myself - seems like 24 + 18 would fit well (OEM one is a tad bigger than 24 though, but 26 won't fit for sure)
Not sure of Bosch ones with recent poor reviews, please guide on brands as well.
Please also guide if adapter is something I should worry about.
Links would be great!
Thanks team-bhp!

After having a sour experience with Bosch clear advantage on my polo (juddering within a month), I installed Schaeffler frameless ones, they have a thin metal bar running along the blade which is hidden unlike Bosch ones which are just plastics. So far so good.

Regards

Bought Schaeffler frameless pair of 24” and 18” to replace stock framed ones of my 2021 Hyundai Venue Sx Plus DCT. Will share the feedback once I get a chance to test it during upcoming road trip.
Where did you get these? And how's the experience so far?

From what I have noticed, my Verna's 24" judders a lot but cleans pretty good, also its been like 6 months after which I noticed juddering. Planning to get Hella Cleantech or Bosch Aerotwin for my fortuner, any suggestions guys?

Hello everyone !

I am at Delhi and utilise a 2013 Hyundai i20 as my beater car.The wipers on the car are not moving and service centre quoted Rs 16k+ Taxes for replacement of complete Wiper Motor assembly.

Can these be repaired ,any lead would be highly appreciated.

Tough to diagnose it without any material facts. This could be anything from a simple fuse issue to a bad wiper motor. I would though say that a complete failure of wiper motor is least probable. It could be a fuse issue, rat chewing wires, wire coming off from sone contact, bad wiper stalk etc.

My recommendation would be to get it checked by any FNG or electrician who can check if current is flowing till the inputs of the wiper motor.

I got my i20 wiper motor replaced for Rs. 2k back in 2021. My local repair guy took the original motor and installed a refurbished one. It's been 3+ years since the replacement and my wipers are working fine. So you can definitely try that.

Highly appreciate if you can check your DM and send me the mechanic details.
Local Electrician couldn’t identify the fault yet.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Guys a noob question. Do these wipers come with universal adapters. I’m planning to order Schaeffler for my bmw x1 f48 but don’t know which is the right connector. Would any 26” & 16” work?

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Where are Schaeffler wiper blades available in Bangalore? Any contacts, please?

I tried the Schaeffler India website, with no luck. (https://www.schaeffler.co.in/en/meta/contact/)

Thank you!

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

I recently purchased Michelin Wiper Blades for my Creta.

The original Syndicate wiper blades started leaving squeaks while in use, even though I took good care of them. They lasted only 6 months, which is disappointing considering I used them from January to June without monsoon conditions, and my car is usually parked in the shade.

After researching on Amazon, I decided to try the Michelin wiper blades. They cost me Rs 1350 for a pair (26 inches + 16 inches) and were delivered in 4 days by Amazon's Etrade online seller.

The packaging was not great, as the wipers' covering got damaged due to being packed in just polythene. I believe delicate items like wipers should be packed in cardboard boxes for better protection.

Upon initial inspection, the quality of the Michelin wiper blades seems better than the previous Bosch ones I tried in my Jeep Compass. They came with various connectors and an installation guide. The wiper blade with the G-type connector was easy to install in my Creta. So far, they provide a silent wipe and clean well.

I will update you on the durability of the product after a few months of use during the monsoon season.

Re: The 'Wiper Blade' Thread

Guys, can anyone help me with buying Bosch wipers for a 520d? I’m kind of giving up now with all the returns I’ve had to do since the Bosch clear advantage wipers did not fit. I think it’s because of the adapter. Would anyone be kind enough to help me out with which Bosch ones I should buy? I know the size should 26/19.

The Bosch Aerotwin wipers are the ones that come with Adapters.
I've used them on the 320d and our X5 in the past.

They've become incredibly hard to find of late.

I've ordered the Michelin Flat Blade wipers for the X5 now. Arriving soon.

Amazon Link to the Michelin ones

In case you find the Aerotwin, please share a link here.
