Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

Folks, I am considering buying Bosch Aquatak 125 or Karcher K2 mainly for washing car and patio. I have never used one before. The pressure rating is around 125 bar. Can this pressure impact the grout between tiles if used regularly?

It does but only in some places and if the grouting is very old. I use the Aquatak and it is usually fine. Where it comes off, I fill with ezycr8 by Asian Paints. It restores is easily.

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

I own a StarQ W3-B Pressure washer, for the price, it works well and as expected.
Nothing Hi-tech, but It has self-priming function and adequate pressure so I can use water from a bucket.
So far so good

Any recommendations?
Quoting my old post from Oct'20. I ended up buying a Karcher K2 Horizontal washer during the last BBD sale in Flipkart for around 5.8 k INR (got some discount in exchange of FK Supercoins). In the last 10 months, have used it for removing algae from my terrace floor and its powerful enough (missed to take a before and after pic as I was away from my phone). Washed my car and two-wheelers a few times and it seems to do a decent job. More that sufficient for my usage of occasional washes. The machine seems to be able to run for 10 mins continuously without any motor overheating issues.

Recently, did some convenient upgrades on the washer. Got a JPT foam lance adaptor, NEXTIC foam cannon, JPT pressure nozzles (set of 5 degree based water flow to use instead of the stock 2 pressure handles) and a quick connector for the pressure hose to aid the connection/disconnection. No issues observed so far on the accessories and they seem to have simplified the setting up time before a wash.

Adding buying links below for the same for reference for Karcher users.

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

I am contemplating to buy a pressure washer to be used in the farm house for washing our vehicles. Being a farm, quality of water is not great (hard water) plus impurities in the water. I wanted feedback from someone on long term feedback of these machines on above conditions.
One of my known guy who deals in such equipment is asking me to avoid these type of pressure washers and buy a smaller version of pressure washers used in commercial establishments. It would run through one H.P. motor, spares are easily available and this setup is abuse friendly but with exception of foam lance incompatibility . This is a major deal breaker for me as i dont want staff to apply car wash manually.

Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

I bought Bosch Aquatak 125 few weeks back from Amazon. This is my first purchase in last few years from a seller other than Cloudtail/Appario. To my relief it is a fresh unit and not something that is returned by another customer. The seller is KIDA Retail.
It has enough pressure to clear years of neglect in the exterior flooring & walls. I used rotary nozzle for this.
It has more than enough pressure to wash the car and was happy to use just the fan nozzle. It also has a pencil jet option. It throws sharp jet of water at very high pressure. I don't think I will ever use it.
I tried using it inside the house. It makes a lot of sound and it is OK as I will use it rarely. But the problem I have is there is no option to control the pressure and it is fixed. The most gentle option is the fan nozzle and I feel that is also too high to be used inside the house. Is there any accessory available that can give an option to control the pressure? I can take few steps back to reduce the pressure but the V shape of the fan output becomes too wide.
Overall, I am happy with the product and a nice toy to have!

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

Bought a Black+Decker BW13 Pressure Washer on Amazon about a month and a half ago. The unit looks like this
Buying & Using a Pressure Washer-bw13.jpg

Initially, we had some trouble as there was a loose connection in the power socket. However, once those issues are sorted and we start the washer, it really generates a good amount of pressure which is great to force out much from areas of the car which would just now otherwise be possible with a cloth.

While the pressure is pretty high (100 bar), it is not enough to wipe out some tough grime that gets caked on to the tiles. Given the price, I would recommend this washer.

You will get similar price at local Bosch dealers. I got Bosch Adavanced Aquatak 140 High Pressure Washer (2100 Watt) at INR 23500 where Amazon was selling at 27999.

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

After deliberating over the matter for a few weeks, I finally went ahead and picked up an agriculture use sprayer that has a 16 litre capacity, runs off a 12v battery (in addition to a hand pump as backup), and can be strapped to the back using a couple of straps (essentially a knapsack sprayer kind of a thing).

It has an assortment of nozzles, and one of them fits the need for a car wash.

So far it has held true to the seller's claim of around 7-8 uses between a battery recharge, has had no leakages so far, no breakdowns.

The thing is heavy, especially after filling in water. Also the higher pressure means the pump goes through the 16 litre reservoir in a few minutes.

The pressure is good enough to remove flakes of paint from a concrete wall, remove stubborn black residue from the bathroom tiles, and good enough to wash the car.

Hi, I had recently purchased the StarQ 1800 W pressure washer. It is totally worth the money. Even though the functioning was perfect, the pipe fitting was a tussle. I felt that I would break the machine while fitting the pipes. Something was not right which obstructed the ease of pipe fitting, so returned it.
Will be going for the same model again, hoping that its not a generic issue.

Re: Buying & Using a Pressure Washer

Folks, I'm planning to pickup a pressure washer in the ongoing Amazon sale. I'm kinda split between the Bosch Aquatak 125 1500 watt (Rs. 9799/- on sale) and the ResQtech PW-107 1900 watt (Rs. 10259/- on sale). The ResQtech seems to be better VFM in terms of offered accessories.

Links:

https://www.amazon.in/ResQTech-1700-...%2C415&sr=8-14

Any feedback would be very helpful. Thanks.
