Hi, has anyone tried the Karcher K2.110 from a bucket rather than connect to the tap? We dont allow using the garden tap for washing cars in our housing society.

Please try not to do that as its not a self priming machine and the motor may get damaged in such a case. The 3.55 can do that easily.

Partha, thanks for the input. I'll look for other options. The 3.55 is pretty steep for me.

HI Jethari - Karcher K2 series cannot pull water from stagnant source. This feature is found only in KArcher K3 series and above.

If this is the concern, do a simple DIY Job. Buy on of those table top water dispensers and replace the tap with a conventional tap. Voila you have a running water source from a stagnant water source.

I am referring to something like the below image.

Hi, thanks for the idea. In fact I am planning to use a suitable bucket/drum with a lid and install one of these units on them.

This is supposed to work off the cigarette lighter socket of a car. Go to www.aliexpress.com and search for "car washer". You'll be amazed at the amount of car washers available in the China market.

Don't know far these china products are reliable , are they covered in some sort of warranty ? Have you used it ? Any feed back about this ?

Warranty will be of no use to us as we will have to ship it back to them. I have bought stuff from aliexpress before, small things only. I did buy a car dvd gps unit from china directly from the manufacturer sometime in March 2012. The unit is still working perfectly. Having said this, for the price, it might just be worth the risk. If and when I do buy this washer pump I'll keep you all posted about it.

Team came across this pressure washer from Makita today. Makita HW 111 on the machpowertools website.

Did not know that Makita made pressure washers too. The machine details look good and on further searching the Makita website also got few more details that it comes with Steel armed rubber hose and steel reinforced spray gun. Here is the link to the website.
The lower model comes with thermoplastic hose which is also common in other pressure washers in the budget range.

Got in touch with the dealer who has agreed to give a free demonstration in my home, and free delivery also. Have asked him more details about the accessories too that come with the machine.

What do you guys feel? Is it good? Since the head office of Makita is in Bangalore itself, I was thinking problems might be easier to address and also servicing is by the same dealer. How reliable are Makita products btw?

The only issue with the machine is it is not self priming, but will have to give it a try once they demo the machine at my place.

Or do you think Karcher is only better? How good is the Karcher After sales in BLR?
Thanks.

Makita is Japanese i guess. The only Plus point I notice with KArcher is that they have a huge collection of Add-On accessories and tools for various cleaning purpose (car and Generic). We can find a Karcher accessory for almost any application. KArcher under body cleaner / chassis cleaner is a unique accessory suited only for Karcher pressure washer series.

This thing is the Japanese version of the K3.550. Comes with induction motor, steel threaded hose plus lances plus foamer plus brush. I wouldnt need anything more than that. But this will have to wait some more time.

Only problem is it wont suck water from the bucket or rather not advised to.
