I got this update from them in Feb itself:

"Good day!
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we are currently doing product beta testing in San Francisco, USA, and Bangalore, India. We want to make sure that the product is stable and it works well in any part of the world before shipping. Our estimated shipping timeline is April 2017 onward. ( Kindly note that there won’t be any more shipping delays ). We have a very stable device now. We deeply apologize for dragging the shipping schedule but the device you are going get is the best in HUD industry, Please stay tuned for videos, Images etc."

I have emailed them again to get the latest status.

Also, I've tried a similar device as HUDWAY glass and it is of no use on a sunny day in Delhi. However, it works fantastically well in the evening/night.

They are still in final phase of testing and expect the orders to be shipped "soon". It has been 1.6 years since I've ordered and I'm still very hopeful.
The live prototypes are starkly different from the intial reel that was shown.

The time this thing has taken to be developed was enough to even plan a mars mission.

No further updates even in their website, for several months now! Looks like a lost cause!

Has been labeled as a scam now. Just search for 'exploride scam' - several links. I guess crowdfunding has made life easier for fraudsters

Yep, they have run away with the cash. The Bangalore office isn't responsive and the CEO works for some other company now. In short, nothing is coming.

Is there anything we can do legally against these scamsters?

Not sure on that front. For that money, I am not even sure if it's worth the hassle. I think a few people abroad were looking at options of "class action lawsuit" already, but I'm not updated on that. I think it's better to think of this as a missed "investment" and move on.

Re: Aftermarket Head-Up Display (HUD Add-ons & Mobile Apps)

Is there any HUDs out there which can be fitted in any car. Also with the OBD port of WagonR(2007 model) can these gadgets be fitted?

Thanks,
Ramki

Now that Kia has started to factory fit the HUD on Seltos in the sub 20L segment, I think more and more manufacturers will follow. Having said that, for the existing cars, the best inexpensive option will be DIY using following:
- ELM OBD2 Bluetooth adapter https://www.amazon.in/Android-Torque...omotive&sr=1-9
- Reflective Screen patch https://www.amazon.in/Festnight-Disp...s%2C251&sr=8-2
- Andorid or IOS phone with OBD app installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...orque&hl=en_IN

These Chinese OBD adapters may not show show all the ECU codes but are good enough to extract the info that one requires on a HUD.

The phone display can be reflected directly on the windshield, but the reflective screen will allow phone display to be reflected and visible in bright conditions also. Performance may vary on the quality of strip used.

Torque app will display the info extracted from the car's OBD port. I think this has a map view also.

Do let me know the results if you are going for this!

Reviving NAVDY HUD with alternate SDK

Guess there would be lost souls like me who have suffered the brunt of Navdy going bust a cpl of years ago and are left with a brick - services / apps not working anymore?

Navdy :

Its been a great device while it lasted, i've used it on my Ford Ecosport in India and it was great to see street names, car info(RPM etc.,) and speed info even in Hyderabad. Funnliy, one hot afternoon it complained with a message stating that the device was too hot to operate(thx to our summer) and shut down automatically. Safety first!

Has anyone tried the SDK alternatives? I've found the below on googling and wanted to check if any TeamBPHians have tried this already?
https://www.reddit.com/r/navdy/comme...re_3089alelec/

When travelling to UK, i got with me the device but forgot to bring the jog dial along. Cursing myself for that now. Pls do let me know if anyone has tried the alternate SDK and your feedback on using the device post installation.

Re: Aftermarket Head-Up Display (HUD Add-ons & Mobile Apps)

Are head up displays actually useful? I get the fact that it keeps ones eyes on the roadd, but if it is positioned above the dash, taller people would have to pull their eyes downwards to still eye the HUD right? I was in a slavia with an aftermarket HUD which was positioned right above the dash. I am 6'0'' and had to look a bit down from the road to see the hud properly. Hence the question.

Would love to see what fellow members are using as a solution for achieving a good HUD in their ride.
