Re: Building a 500 BHP 4wd Beast - Mitsubishi Lancer

And the Tapet Cover goes in Place. Powder Coating Done. Exhaust Goes in Place.. I hope I dont burn out the Powder Coating with the exhaust hear, which might happen... All pipes intake pipes powder coated and installed as well.

Modification on the PTO (Power Take off Unit), a.k.a. Transfer case in progress. Actually the original oil seal was damaged, thus oil leaked out and killed the bearings. Tried searching a lot. But no where could I find the exact same Bearings. What I have now done, is selected the closest bearings, (Same OD, different ID), and made sleeves on the Pinion to fit in Place. Since the width is also smaller, I had to recalculate the pre-load, being taper roller bearings, and make them accordingly. Check out the Pics.

More updates coming soon.

Thanks

Hemank

Nice Car!
I'm not sure, but I guess I've seen you with your car at 3M car care (sus-pashan road). I was doing a wax polish there, a similar lancer (with black wheels) came over there and went off.

Re: Building a 500 BHP 4wd Beast - Mitsubishi Lancer

Great car!!

A couple of questions:

What is the displacement of the Engine? Is it the stock 2L?

What on earth are you planning to do with it once you are done?

It was a 2.0L, now its a 2.5L engine with a Brian Crower stroker kit

Has Forged Pistons, Lighter flywheel, Piper Cams with adjustable cam pulleys, and a lot more goodies All Specs coming up.

What am I gonna do with it.. hmmm good question.. Since I was a little kid, I wanted to know what it feels like to be in a supercar. Since I couldnt buy a lambo or a ferrari, I always thought of building up stuff myself. I admit that I blew a lot of money in R&D on many such projects. Well this one's gonna make it to the top.. Just something I wanna build.. Perhaps take it to the Budh Intl. Circuit and have one track day and make it all worth the time and money spent

Drive safe.. Tc

Re: Building a 500 BHP 4wd Beast - Mitsubishi Lancer

Do you even need 6 piston rear calipers? How are you adjusting brake bias? Hopefully something better than a prop valve. How do the parking brakes work?

Hi slightly OT - I am not sure how to do a personal message

- can you suggest a good mechanic / garage in Pune. I have a Ford Escort 1997 model parked in Pune for past 2 years. Though it was in working condition when I parked it, but would like to take it to a good garage to fix some of the problems. Would like to use it again for some years.

Being a 4wd with 500+ hp, 6 pot rears are req. I'm routing my lines through the std ABS module.

I'm also attaching a hydraulic hand brake for the rear.

Drive safe. Tc

Project over

Well, we have finished this project, and the car is now ready to rock and roll. Cant boast about the build without testing it. Would post pictures, videos, test results, and a report of the same next month. For now, I guess I'm off this thread for a month.. See you'll next month.

Very impressive stuntfreak; quite inspiring from the perspective of how far we can go, when our dreams are made of Lamborghini's, but our bank accounts aren't proportional.

Will wait patiently for a month to hear back on the successes, and areas to revisit.
