Heavily modified Skoda Octavia vRS - Fuel for Petrol Heads

I apologize for my long absence but I was caught up with official pressing matters and hope I can now dedicate my time to my beloved passion on my favourite forum. In the meanwhile (for those who are interested) I added a SLK200 to my fleet! Yayyy!

But now to the topic on hand, Skoda RS total upgrade.

I have got my Skoda RS upgraded in the following departments:
1) Engine
2) Suspension
3) Brakes
4) Wheels and Tyres
5) Seats
6) Audio

Let me start with

1) Engine:

a. Turbo GT 30 Hybrid Turbo
b. Forged Piston Kit
c. Forged Con-Rod
d. Front Mounted Intercooler Kit
e. 1.8T Racing clutch
f. Cold Air Intake System
g. HFS Water injection system
h. RHS Engine Mount
i. LHS Engine Mount
j. Blow off Valve
k. 1.8T Baffled Sump
l. Inlet Manifold
m. Equal length Exhaust manifold
n. 3 inch Exhaust system
o. 550CC High Impedance Injectors
p. Inlet Valve stainless steel
q. Exhaust valve stainless steel
r. Head Stud Kit
s. Inline Fuel Pump
t. 3" MAF Sensor

Review: It is difficult for me to control my tears of joy every time I get behind the wheel of my RS. It is truly a Muscle Car with oodles of power combined with reliability. So far; 2648 kms clocked; issues Zero.

2) Suspension:

Tein Custom made suspension.

Review: If there is anything that matches the Power of the car it is the suspension. With an EDFC control unit to control damping on the fly, there is nothing more that I could ask for. The car is on rails around bends and there is no ducking or swaying at any speed.

3) Brakes:

Mintex High Performance Brake Pads

Review: Though the braking has improved considerably, it is the only department where I feel the car is slightly lacking. Good gear checking compensates for this but another brake upgrade is due soon.

4) Wheels and Tyres:

Moda 17"
Tyres Continental ExtremeContacts 245/40 R 17

Review: The rims are good performance and complement the car with their looks. The tyres are great so far but will only be able to tell what they are capable of after the monsoons.

5) Seats:

Sparco R100

Review: They are snug with extremely good lumbar support and keep me planted even at extreme speeds. Cornering has never been more fun.

6) Audio:

This was one of the biggest dilemmas. I love my music and wanted a killer sound system for this one too.. something that would befit and complement the car. I shooed away all the idiots who told me that i shouldnt add weight to the car because I had more than enough power on tap but I didn't want to take chances leaving this baby in the hands of some amateur audio installer and I really have tried them all in Mumbai with very disappointing results . The same guys who did my mods told me that they do ICE too and at a different level from the run of the mill. A bit skeptically I decided to take their word and went ahead with it since I was actually driving the car for about a fortnight listening to my iphone with earphones and this is what happened...

Head Unit: JVC 926
Front: Morel 3 way components
Rear: Morel 2 way coax
Amp: Mosconi 4 channel
Sub: Kicker Solo X

Review: When the car was delivered to me with the system I couldn't believe my ears (and my eyes)! Simply fantastic and one more compelling reason for me to take this car out of it's garage!!

Your upgrade list looks delicious. Congrats. How about posting a few pics of your ride?

PS: Have you done a dyno run of your car? What is the power jump?

Re: Skoda RS total upgrade - Fuel for Petrol Heads

WOW..!!That is a total MONSTER you have got there going by the specs.I am an ex-RS owner(I have now passed it on to my cousin) and know what the stock car was capable of. The first generation Skoda RS that we got here in India truly was and will remain a special car in the context of Indian automotive scenario.Congrats for having given this beast what it truly deserves. Not many of us who own it, dare to go to such lengths.Just goes to showcase your passion. Can you share the details on the costs involved in this upgrade? Also where did you get this done in India? You can pm me if youre not too comfortable sharing details on the forum.

Lat but not the least, PICS

Congrats once again.

I bought this car from Four Seasons Automobiles (4S Auto) with the intention and promise of a total upgrade. They are fitment partners of Red Rooster Performance for Mumbai and this car was tuned under the personal supervision of Mr.Leelakrishnan. The engine and suspension upgrades are custom (there is one more car also done by them in Mumbai) and the audio was done by Mr.Ajay Kamath of 4S Audio.
The brief was clear, I wanted a car which was a combination of power and reliability. It should thrill my senses and my sensibilities. There should be no "teething" issues and no short term thrills, it should deliver power like the hammer of Thor and be as nimble as Peter Pan on its feet. The audio should be something that my wife should hear Aretha Franklin and enjoy as much as I would want to enjoy Prodigy.
Like I said earlier, barring the brakes, the car is a 10/10 in all departments. It is a muscle car, a gentle giant, a raging bull and a bubbling brook all at the same time. Whether I am maneuvering traffic or pushing boundaries on the highways, she has always been able to deliver exactly what is expected of her.
Honestly, I can go on and on but I will leave it to my knowledgeable fellow Team-Bhpians to ask me whatever they would be interested in knowing. Till then....miles of smiles.

The tein and its edfc can be procured from red rooster performance and their fitment partners around India. The EDFC for the swift(i don't know if the system costs different for different cars) costs around 30k when I last asked (a year ago). The suspension(damper and coilover springs) are extra.

Re: Heavily modified Skoda Octavia vRS - Fuel for Petrol Heads

Is this the original colour or is it repainted? This colour look like one which was available on the TDI. No offence but the VRS looks best in solid colours.

Re: Heavily modified Skoda Octavia vRS - Fuel for Petrol Heads

That is a serious set of upgrades! I am going to follow this thread to hear more about this vehicle. Was there a specific reason that you changed the tail spoiler? IMHO the stock spoiler looks much better.

Re: Heavily modified Skoda Octavia vRS - Fuel for Petrol Heads

The yellow one is a 'Company Car' Its a van, dont remember which make or model.
Is it now running lesser power than earlier? Hosh was telling me that he wanted to reduce it as it was just not useable. I remember him telling me about the drive with the 'Company Car'. The humble Merc AFAIK the real drive started after the 3rd gear when the wheel spinning stopped.
I think we have met, I own the Silver Stage II vRS. Had brought it in the same day you didnt get yours.

Re: Heavily modified Skoda Octavia vRS - Fuel for Petrol Heads

Congrats Powerfool - the car certainly has come out very well. I am also an RS owner and have always toyed with the idea of an upgrade, though not as extensive as yours, could you please share what power output have you achieved - if possible also please share the cost - if not on the forum - could you please PM me. Thanks

ML.
