Well!

I don't know how to answer this.

So the clutch is direct match. Definitely holds power! Meaning you can launch and send the wheels spinning or do powershifts so that wheels again go spinning. So it was for like 7k kms.

Then in Coorg roads I asked my uncle to do flybys with one upshift to record my exhaust. He thought I only wanted high revs and he wanted slow speeds so the man drove slow and slipped the clutch with his leg on the pedal intentionally so that the engine rev'd at 5k rpm but car was OBVIOUSLY slow and safe.

He smoked it - the clutch!

And that was the end of all that wheel spinning bite of the clutch that I once had.

Fast forward 3k more kms. Mileage and normal driving is still good. Yet in the back of my head, I need another clutch!

Re: Is the Esteem's clutch compatible with the Baleno?

Not really bad at all for the cost. Mine, which has clocked 1.8 L KMs now, has got new clutch plates at around 1.3 L Kms. Same goes well, except for some hardness. I may need a change in another few month, though I am used to this hardness now, even at B2B traffic. My driving style has also changed a lot, getting older and being slow and steady.

With thanks and regards
