@dhaushs - when you run more boost then intercooler spray helps in keeping things cool, specially in delhi.

@venon - it was offered to me someone (cant remember) . its a known car in bombay. if i can remember i'll pm you .

@Mpower - yes twin turbo manual , Ttop.

best thing about it is that its so driveable... the ground clearence is so useable, surprizes you with the things it goes over without scrapping.

So what you are saying is that the Civic has a lower ground clearance or this one has better suspension

Quad exhaust eh ?? So is she going to be a screamer too ?

Cheers

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

@@Speedsport My heartiest congratulations to you It is very hard to find such a clean 300zx in this world and you manage to source one in India, is commendable job and you are one lucky lad. This is a car on my wish for some day to come.

Does your car has rear wheel steering? Fairlady has it but not sure if your model has one too. It's amazing way back in 1990 this car had climate control, all wheel steering, folding ORVM's and loads of other gadgets.

Not trying to steal your limelight but wanted to share my experience with you. Couple of years ago I had an opportunity to restore a Fairlady 2+2 TTop Twin turbo in Canada. Found it in a storage yard owned by my friend and she was exposed to rain, snow and what not for 4 years in open. Felt so sorry for this beauty and took up the challenge to bring her back to life. Took me two months to source the parts and work on it but worth every minute I worked on her.

Sharing some pics of the Fairlady AKA Phoenix and a bit of advise from my experience.

How I found it My Nissan 300ZX!-3.jpg

Do whatever mods you want to do but never put anything above Dot 3 brake fluid. I waisted 3L of Dot 4 before I realised it wont work with Z brakes.

Test run after 4 years of parking, hardly any breaks and leaking power steering with one big bore 6 x 1 FF SS exhaust and a unhealthy MAF.

Apologise for taking OT but got my old memories freshened up.

Congrats again

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

@ Phil : Finally what took you so long !!

The car is an absolute beauty. The way the previous owner maintained this car needs to be seen to be believed. I was amazed at the level at which this thing was cared for.

I was the lucky one to accompany Phil on his Cross country journey in bringing the car home which was an experience of a lifetime. 300 horses screaming through stretches like the Bombay Pune Expressway and NE1 was a true delight. I even got a chance of driving this thing for some hundred KMs and the way it accelerates just blows your mind. Everything feels so direct and in your hand, nothing like the cars we drive today, and with the mod potential this thing has I wonder where will it go in the hands of Phil. I just cant wait to see the mods to be started on this car.

Some pictures of driving the car home on route. Enjoy

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

@Speedsport - Great purchase, this car has been on my list for the past 3 years. I have owned 4 of these when I was in the US (one 2 seater NA, one 2+2 NA, and two 2 seater TT's both autos converted to manual :d ) and man I fell in love. It appears you have the USDM vehicle which is what I have owned. You are lucky to have found the 2 seater which is 300 horses stock vs 280 on the auto tranny. However, the auto has one smaller turbo which spools faster so you don't notice the difference between the NA and turbo.

If you need any technical help, parts help etc do let me know, having a fair amount of "bhejafodi" with these cars I believe I can help. Ohh and have fun working in that cramped engine bay, I still remember my bruised knuckles!!!

@Randhawa - The fairlady and the 300zx are the same thing, these were named fairlady in the JDM market and 300zx in the USDM market thats all. they stopped sales/production in 98 in the US Vs 2000 in Japan.

P.S. you can see a pic of my 300zxTT in my sig. Check my garage for pics of all my Z's.

Ah, I thought as much. Reason I asked is your mention of 180 kph. Thought your car might have gotten a JDM ECU or something.

Simply because a lot of us are pre-worshipped car fans, and you've gotten us dreaming Speedsport!

Perfect combination, just perfect.

Japanese philosophy, man. Even their sports cars are so usable. The Honda / Acura NSX was one of the few supercars you could use on a daily basis (good visibility, reliable, no jerking or overheating in traffic etc.).

Shorter wheelbase, stiffer suspension et al.

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

That is one SWEET ride you've got there. Immaculately maintained! Man, if such cars were available in the pre-worshipped segment! Now, the only thing remains to know is the price- But thats something you dont want to divulge .

Do update the thread with the mods done. As GTO said, how about a Dyno pre and post mods. That would give a better perspective.

Enjoy the beast. Drive safe!

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

What a gem of an engine this is. So lucky guy you got yourself a Daytona winner! Congratulations!

PS: As per MVA, is it not mandatory to write left hand drive on these cars at rear.

Re: My Nissan 300ZX!

Excellent car! Congrats on your purchase.
I've seen a same 300zx, same colour parked at FRK, bangalore 3 years ago. I was a regular there. However that was a KA reg number. I'll try to dig down the pictures of it. There was a yellow mitsubishi gto too (which was bought by a bhpian). I'm not sure if it is the same car with TN reg.

Congrats again
