How much do these projector headlamps cost approx?
Well, Civic is one good car for mod. jobs. Maybe you can create your own Civic Type R

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

@maxbhp: I'm on the job! My painter wants the entire grill off the car to paint it, so I thought I'd give it when I step out of town. No chrome!

@dhanushs: By EKM do you mean Ernakulam? I keep driving between Mysore and Bangalore a lot, maybe I can find someone on Bangalore to do it for me.

@badboyscad: Those headlamps look killer! Should definitely try and get them. Now if I only knew where...

Got my lip spoiler today, looks nice! I really think I should lose the sticker in the back though.

Wow, looks awesome Naveen!! Have to start saving, my car is begging for a headlight upgrade.

Congrats mate. Its an awesome choice of car. I own one too and absolutely love it. Yours looks wicked with the red and black rim-job. I don't remember the name but there is one more BHPian from Bangalore I think who has a red Vento and has also decked her up very well. Have many many safe driving miles with your ride. BTW we all have named our rides something we refer to it as. Whats yours ? Mine is the Black Knight. You could perhaps call yours the Red-Dragon !!! Or the Red-Devil
Cheers

Navin,
Sorry to bother you mate. But then are there any non-Kerala locations where I can get the eyes for my Vento. The photos you have posted look awesome. Any link would be helpful. Also what did it cost ?

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

Great looking Vento. I am not big on modded cars, but you have struck a nice sweet spot.

Just a few suggestions from my side:
1. Lose the rear sticker.
2. I dont think the black mudgaurds go well with the rest of the look of the car.
3. Do something to the lights, many suggestions already given.
4. Try a mesh grill, but keep the meshing density low.
5. Also, I am not sure about how to do it, but I think the Polo's front bumper would look better. Largely because the rectangular foggies go better with the shape and angles of the car.
6. Again dont know how to get it done, but if you could lose the antenna, it would give a more clean look to the car.
7. A thin black strip along the bottom of the car would also probably look nice.

Dude, the ones I have attached are from Mumbai. I met him online and he deals in projectors for all major cars.

As per our last conversation, this is what he had mentioned. "the projectors include hids ballasts the wiring everythin that u need. The headlights are not readily available and are pretty expensive close to 11k for a pair. it would be cheaper if u send me the lites i fix the projectors and send them back to u."

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

This is probably the hottest Vento on the forum!

I would remove all stickers if I were you. Also, smoked lights would be good. The problem with mesh grill is that it might rattle at a later date.

Congratulations anyways!

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

The car looks stunning. I can't help but notice the huge gap between the wheel arch's and the wheels. In my opinion, a lowered suspension will surely make the car more appealing.

This is true but if you get it fixed from an experienced installer, there wont be any problem. I have been using custom mesh grill on my Swift for more than 2 years now without any problem. If you use a plastic grill, it might rattle. But use heavier mesh grill and it will work fine.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

Wow, terrific mods Sledge. Trust me on it, yours is the only good looking red Vento I have come to appreciate thanks to all the mods. What will complete this package is putting the blacked out headlights from the international version.

What amazes me is why no body have installed this in any of their Polos or Ventos even after more than an year from their launch.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

@v.anand, jp2u, troublemaker: Kind words, much appreciated! I would love to get the black headlights if I knew where to get them!

@singhupinder: I know the gap may look a little awkward, but it's a small price to pay for not scraping every out-of-shape speed breaker that our roads seem to surprise me with!

@julupani:
1. I love my stickers, they stay. Makes the five year old inside me happy
2. Agree the mud guards ruin the look, but I'm tired of dirty door sills and rear bumper!
3. Headlights upgrade soon
4. No custom-made mesh grill, will try and source parts from overseas
5. Great suggestion. If only the red of Polo and that of the Vento matched! I would trade readily!
6. The antenna stays, FM is a life-saver in traffic!
7. The car already looks like it's been raised, that black strip might accentuate that effect.

@ambivalent_98: Do you have a link for this other modded Vento? I tried to look on the forum for modded Vento's and came up with nothing. Maybe the Mods should start a separate section for modded Polo's and Vento's.

And no dude, I'm not naming my car anything! Even if I do, it's going to be a woman's name
