Think it's H4. Just confirm it. I would recommend you to check with local shops in Blore for projectors. If you manage to find the complete headlight assembly it's fine otherwise check with local shops and see how they perform. They are many brands available and some wont perform as expected. Just a personal opinion.

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

I see there are many people from Bangalore/Mumbai who have got projector and/or HID installations, anyone from NCR/Delhi?

Any reviews on Retro rides ? https://www.facebook.com/retrorides
There facebook page is active and they did respond positively to my query when I asked if they had projectors for Polo's OEM assembly (the plug n play kind), but haven't read reviews of their work here yet.

I'm sure Karol Bagh has many such shops but a reference and review of some trusted vendor would be great and much needed, there are a lot of fakes out in that market.

I intend to get...
1. HID with projectors, subtle, not too flashy.
2. DRL, if possible, again nothing too ostentatious.

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

Dear Naveen & All ,

I dont have a VW badging but i have a common thought in terms
of a good setup involving the lighting arrangements in a 4wheeler.

The grey clouds are the car's with HID 's vs Stock OEM setup which
may offer limited visibility where the problem is, often that's a struggle
and one often finds to reach out for Hi-Beam'er which is an offense.

So simple Question's are even the Xenon blub's offer more than
better illumination (Philips Xtreme Vision, Osram NB+ etc) vs Regular Halogens.
Well also given for the fact (IF) one manages to employ them with
retro-fit on good quality projectors - I wonder where will all the
rant be ???

I have also read/heared rave reviews about HID's + Proj
tripping and fellow enthusiast's cribbing on Rainy monsoon nights
whilst on pitch black NH's & ghat section's.

Is it really worthy Or is it pure Aesthetics's , por favour?

Cheers

TND, you didnt say which car you own. To put in simple words, HID's+Projector is a mix of both - Functionality and looks. It doesnt lack it's performance during monsoon but much better than stock headlights (atleast in my case). If you are using 4300k HID's it will have a better visibility. For highway run, low beam wont be sufficient(not saying it's bad) but high beam will do the job. For city use, low beam does the job.

Upgrading to higher wattage bulbs (90/100w - Philips) should also do the job. Overall, if you get a branded projector+HID, it should do a good job.

If you still have doubts, just try the higher wattage bulbs first. It should cost below 1.5k for the entire kit. If you not satisfied, then go for the projector+HIDs.

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

Dear Naveen ,

well the car is a Fiat GP with 55/60W spec h4 bulb with osram oem bulb.

I am only interested in illumination and Asthetics comes later in that dept

One thing i took notice is OSRAM's NB+ in standard 60/55wattage in their lineup
which i now wish to install into fog light holder in h1 / h7 spec.

Would be also interested in taking an advise from the mumbai based installer(you reckon) for my headlight upgrade.
Could you shower his contact info down my way.

Cheers

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

Hi all,
I have been wanting to have Passat like headlights (Projectors + DRLs) on my good ol' Vento. I found an advert in Overdrive and Autocar June edition showing the exact ones I want.
There is a company in Malaysia called Eagle Eyes. (http://www.eagleeyes-asia.com) . A dealer in New Delhi also claims to be selling the same (Auto Connections). They are selling these headlights. I wrote to both and found the data as below.

1) The Indian dealer claims to sell a pair of headlights for 25k including shipping.

2) The malaysian company rep said to purchase it from them directly as he said they do not have any authorised re-sellers. They are offering a purchase price of RM 2000 (36K rs at the current exchange rate) and this price is probably minus the shipping. He says purchasing from them would ensure that I get a genuine product as there is lot of fakes in the market.

My doubt is that if I am putting my money more than 20k then I at least would like to see in the flesh what I am buying , see it working else I might end up with a faulty piece and would lose money and be stuck with them.

So my question to the forum is
1) Is there any re-seller in Bangalore for these (I know there won't be any authorised but unauthorised).
2) There are few Chinese companies who advertise the similar product on their website but then they will take only bulk orders and being Chinese there is always an element of doubt. (Same case with the dealer in Delhi ... just kidding)...
I have attached the photos that I have got from the company but I am not sure. I really want those lights but don't know where to get them. Any inputs or pointers from fellow T-BHPians would help.

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

@ ambivalent_98: I am as well in the market for projector set up for my Vento though I am being vehemently dissuaded by the tribe that frightens me of VW's warranty policy. Nevertheless, the Auto Connections guy (I guess you got his contacts via the team-bhp classifieds) claims that it is purely plug-in play and absolutely no changes with the wiring. The person confirmed that they have tie-up with the Banglore VW showroom as well to supply these headlamps (claim to be verified) and also the eagleeyes-asia.com connections.

In any case, if you do end up finding any option that does not need meddling with the wiring, please keep me in the loop as I am in the market for some reliable vento projectors set-up.
