Thanks. It was a 15 minute job. When you talk about keeping the car idling normal every time and tinkering with the MAF sensor, what was suggested to you had to be done? I was told that the Jazz has some automatic setting for idling, and cannot be messed around in any way. The only problem, if I may call it so is that the RPM has gone down to 800 or so on idle instead of the normal 1100, but that hasn't created any problem until now as such.

Driving style change was suggested because I am otherwise a sedate driver, and to feed in new settings to the ECU, I had to be a little aggressive so that I can use the CAI's full potential. The car is mostly driven in the city so I don't really know how aggressive I will be able to get really, but I am already enjoying the sound when driving on the highways!

Congratulations on your new CAI bro. afaik, the honda ECU will learn the new intake volume and adjust accordingly, so we dont have to tinker with the MAF sensor.

Could you post a picture of the underside of your hood ? Does it have a duct like this

Regarding FFE - have a look at threads the below.

Honda Brio : MUFFLER DESIGN
www.facebook.com/MufflerDesign

Pipewreks ( have spoken to them, and they do make custom ffe for both brio and the Jazz.)

It sure does. Whats it for? Attaching a pic for reference and another close-up shot of the CAI installation. What brands are supposedly considered good for FFE systems for Hondas? Anyone know?

Bro, the duct channels colder air from the front to the air intake. Hope your CAI's mouth sits right at the ducts end.

Regarding FFE - Spoon sport is the next best thing to Mugen.

So I thought. And yes the mouth sits exactly where the duct ends.

Does Spoon sport have a dealer in India? I would hate ordering it online only to find out it doesn't fit perfectly or needs additional modifications. Also don't want to deal with customs. I am looking for a full SS assembly - manifold, headers, the works. Does anyone locally in India make one for the Jazz?

Also looking for drilled and grooved brake discs and a decent set of brake pads next.

Automech does full SS exhausts. I got a FFE Full SS installed on my type I city a little while back. You can let them know your requirement and they will provide the suitable setup.

Do they custom fabricate one as per requirements? As in, I want an FFE Full SS system but not with the loud exhaust notes that come with it.

Also, what was the cost for the entire assembly for the city including installation? I am based out of Ahmedabad, so I might have to source the entire kit from them and have it installed here professionally.

You can order it online. ( i will get that link and PM you.) But if Automech is making them india, its better to go with them. (Peace of mind is guaranteed with automech.)

Why not get a Manifold+mid pipe from automech and the CF muffler from Cosworth (9.8K) it even has a removable baffle to increase the noise. :D

Regarding the discs, Experts strongly recomend not to go for grooved/drilled/slotted discs for regular street use. You can order a pair of kevlar disc pads from ebay.uk

Well for my OHC the entire SS system costed around 14k including installation in ahmedabad. You can specify that you want a subtle sounding exhaust and they will do the necessary.

Mr Vineet Makwana from Automech was in contact with me back then. I have PM'd you his contact information.

Thanks. I'll get in touch with him.

BTW, Did you get the installation done in Ahmedabad? Where at?

Has anyone tried OBD II Plug & Plag Performance Chips on Hondas?

For example : Honda Stage 3 Performance Chip Fuel Engine Racing Speed MOD Plug n Play | eBay

What is your views on that?

Ya it was installed at a local garage near sports club. But later my car went for a complete overhaul so everything was taken off and installed at emerald honda when the car was done. The installation was pretty straight forward so i'm sure you can get it done at any workshop you wish.

Bro, most of these ebay tuners are fake. AFAIK only the Thai guys are successful in modding the new Honda L12B engine and its ECU.

Heres a review from the civic forums for the 200$ ebay ****.

Okay. So tuning chips are out. In any case, it's not required for Stage 1 modding.

On another note, I got a quote from Red Rooster Performance for their RRP Powerdrive system which includes a CAI, FPR and a FFE for a cost of 42950 + 1500 for installation.

Thing is I already have a CAI and I can buy a generic FPR on eBay for 30 USD odd. According to JRD, I am assuming Automech FFE would cost me approx 15K INR.

UNIVERSAL FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR+PSI GUAGE BLUE GMC HONDA HUMMER INFINITI LEXUS | eBay

What makes more sense here? Getting the FPR from eBay, and FFE from Automech or negotiating with RRP for just the FFE (RRP branded) and FPR (Malpassi)?

Sent you a PM with the number of a Thai Supplier.

Thanks to one post on another thread, I am listing my set of requirements that I want from the FFE I might do to my Jazz (This is quite alike to the one mentioned for the Gypsy in that thread).

1. Need the FFE ONLY for low end to mid range and not the mid/high or high range (the lower the better). The reason is that I use the Jazz only for city driving and not high speed driving.

2. The FFE should have a +ve effect on the low end torque. It should in no way decrease the already less low end torque in the Jazz.

3. Need the FFE to be silent. (should not be at all loud).

4. The sound of the FFE should be muted with a rumbling/bassy effect and should not a coarse sound.

5. The FFE should NOT have any -ve effect on the FE of the Jazz.

Now, what do you suggest. Where, how much.. what materials to use? CI, SS etc etc..
