Tehseen,

You are selling your car just after a year of purchase. What is the reason?

hello guys,
I really dont wana sell it but the main two reasons are no parking space and going to out of the country quite often so wont be able to drive it.If i had an garage parking would have not sold it at all.
Car was purchased from a dealer but was on bayer India's name had to get it transferred on the dealers name and then mine thats y ended up with 3 parties.
the leather is done up in stanley camel shade seats and door trim cost me around 55k.

@tehseen in case you going abroad for a short time only, and selling only for the lack of space thing, park it with me. You can always drive it back once you are back.Lolz. Promise to take good care of it.

Your car looks lovely and well maintained, It also seems done up with a heart, but there are some silver customized inserts that you have on the dash / stearing, gear knob (may be ok) that may not be to everyones taste.

What are you expecting for it. - Just out of curosity - not as a buyer.

Really sad to see the merc go tehseen, i am sure it must have been a painful decision for you also(especially after spending so much on it). Those silver garnishes and accents look a bit gawdy and out of place(but thats just my personal taste,no offence meant). The tan leather looks very nice and rich though.

That backseat looks like a sofa! Believe it or not, this car is bigger + more comfortable than the W211 E Class which followed it.

Jesal - He has had it up for sales since a few months. And we have all asked him this question earlier as well.

How about a pre-owned W210 E220 CDI?

One of my friend seeks advice in buying a 71K run '00 make W210 E220 CDI for 7.5L. He earns 10L/Yr take home, would ride ~15K/Yr and is looking at snob value.

I couldnt find any reviews on this particular model, so creating this thread to know the pros/cons and running/maintenance costs of this car?

Not a big fan of the W210, Airwind. My earlier post on this chassis:

As others have already stated, the ownership costs of one will kill ya, especially since you are used to the Swift. Ask me because I own a C Class and hate the numbers that show up on the register after each service. That said, the W210 has a far better back seat than the current W211 E-Class.

If you really want a Benz in that price range, I'd really recommend a W124 to you. Why?

- You have stated in your introduction post that you are keen on W124's too

- Mechanically and (more importantly) electronically, they are far far simpler. The reliability shown by the W124 is leagues ahead of modern gizmo-laden Merc's. In fact, I know of some E250D owners who complained that nothing ever went wrong!!

- They exude more charm, and are reminiscent of the good ol' Benz days.....and all that Mercedes stood for. Simple over-engineered workhorses.

- They are available cheap (anywhere between 3.5 - 5.5 lakh) and will be cheaper to own as well. If you are not that keen on outright speed, get the E250. Its pace is leisurely, but it will never let you down. The E220 is a pretty fast petrol, and will do the 0 - 100 in 10 seconds.
I'd highly recommend a W124 to your friend. Three-pointed star, mechanically robust + simply while E220s going cheap!
