Am a big-big Merc by but this poll was a no-brainer for me, voted BMW M340i.

The value proposition of the new BMW M340i is unbeatable.

A ruthless car for the price! :loveit

My choice out of all the options presented has to be a pre-owned M2 Competition. Having owned a 300+ hp AWD sedan already, there is something special about owning a 2 door RWD coupe with an engine that is detuned for no reason other than internal sales sabotage inside BMW. Easy to give it the M2CS factory tune and have fun :thumbs up

Voted M2 for the proper M experience.

Voted other

Haven't driven either of these cars (or something in that bracket either - so this is the 16 year old in me responding)

The ones mentioned above might just scratch an itch and a long standing one too - that of owning a fun to drive convertible 2 door 'sports' car.

For whatever reason, the Z4 even though it ticks almost all the boxes on paper (convertible, 2 door, BMW etc) doesn't appeal and that's a bummer for a bimmer

If they had the Abarth 124 or the Mazda MX5 or the regular 2 series in the convertible guise on sale - that would have been my first pick

So probably the Mini Cooper convertible, (given the other convertibles in this budget viz the Merc C class & the Audi A3 don't get me excited either)

If we stretch our budget to well beyond the 1 Cr mark - the F Type it would be.

Any of these cars would be an indulgence. Why not go for what makes the heart tick. The brain doesn't really care - it knows that I will be using at best 50% of the capabilities of any of these
