Where did you find this price list on there website? I have never been able to locate the same.

Also I don't think it is a typo as I remember them pricing the 2 top models in diesel identically.

Don't think its a typo. IIRC the 320d sportline and luxury line always had the same pricing.

Also, how the prices have increased from what they were at launch - from the tbhp official review.

What is confusing you is that the higher variant of the diesel was the Luxury plus, which was discontinued less than a year after launch. That had the navigation and the sunroof and the hifi audio system, the latter 2 of which were made standard on the lower models.

I did TD the new C and though it looked very nice and had amazing interiors, space at the rear wasn't that great and overall it did not seem worth it al all. The 520d however was liked by all of us and I think its gonna be the 520d only

Also suggest you TD the E250 at least once with your dad. Besides the badge (and the lazy gearbox) it won't feel similar to your car at all.
Yeah before finalising, will TD all the cars in the segment including E, XF and A6.

Re: Strange confusion: BMW 3 vs 5 Series

Honestly, I would recommend you go with 3 series. It is slightly less spacious, agreed, but boy does it drive better. I was in the same dilemma as you, but I went with the E class.

If you think about it, the difference in size of the 3 and 5 doesn't directly reflect in the difference in space between the two. The 5 is just a tad bit more comfortable, but way larger than the 3 on the outside. The engine bay of the 520D has so much free space, where the engine bay of the 320 is tightly packed. The 5 has the extra space to fit in larger engines like in the 550 D with 3 turbos . The 3 with the 2 litre engine is perfect, as the engine is suitable for the size of the vehicle. The 3 also scores higher on reliability, and is cheaper to maintain.

Plus, living in a city like Bangalore, I am sure driving a 3 around would be much easier, than the bulky and bulbous 5 series.

We have delayed the plan to purchase a new car due to various reasons. The next generation models of many of these cars are coming out in the next 1-1.5 years. So lets see what happens then. For the time being we have exchanged cars with cousins just for a change. So we currently have a C200K instead of the E.

I hear you. I've been deciding on the 5er for quite some time now, but market condition and some other factors have prevented a purchase. Now, quite frankly, i'm wondering if it's worth it to buy one right now or wait for the new 5er in 2017.

Re: Strange confusion: BMW 3 vs 5 Series

If you're already happy with the exchanged C200K, no reason why you can't wait a year or so more.
However, do note that with newer models come newer technology. Problem with newer technology is it generally comes with glitches. If you wait 2 years for the car, you'll buy it as soon as it launches. You'll end up being the guinea pigs being sold the cars and then the company's trial and error will begin.
Ofcourse this doesn't always happen but I personally prefer giving any company atleast a year to iron out glitches if they've updated a lot of things.
Just my 2 cents, maybe something you should consider.

Naman,
Discounts are aplenty at this time so shop around. you may be pleasantly surprised by the discounts on the new C closer to Diwali. However, the Diesel CBU does have some extra features and and panoramic sunroof. Much better and plusher than the 520D which is too common and boring nowadays. Just my personal views. Alternately, the facelifted E is available at some great deals before the new gen is launched in 2016.

Re: Strange confusion: BMW 3 vs 5 Series

Hello,
I am currently more than satisfied with the C200.
We are now certain that we will buy a car only when the next generation models arrive.
True, there are lots of discounts but we don't want to buy a car now.

Lets just hope that the new ones are nice
