Re: Getting my Civic Repainted - Choices and Dilemma!

@Ace

I would suggest to go for the Carbon Bronze colour, the colour gives a sporty look as well as feels sober and rich. Voted for option 3 of your post (option 1 of the poll).

BTW how are you going to gel your alloys with the new colour, any plans to change them too?

Wish it was that simple, ashis! I am still torn between the options and will need more feedback for the same.

Thanks for yours, BTW!

That is the beauty of gunmatel/grey finished alloys. They go very well with the current CBP color and would look great on red as well as blue.

With Milano Red, my other fear is car being too tacky and dipped in red!

Red angel eyes, red brake calipers, red lip on the alloys etc!!! It will be too much of red if I think rationally.

Re: Getting my Civic Repainted - Choices and Dilemma!

i personally love the combination in the first pic(red) the mugen kit with the alloys look stunning in the picture.
if given a choice i would have got my self matte black with red stripes as a combo.
recently ive read two threads about the paintjob at pandit's one involving a silver palio and a paint change on a zen.. the zen turned out real good ill try to find the link to the thread and post it here. also did you get the engine start button with the mount assembly because its a flush fit? if not where did you get it installed?
cheers

Re: Getting my Civic Repainted - Choices and Dilemma!

From the above 3 choices I would go with Blue, think it's looks best among the 3, and maybe with white alloys will look even better, how about a complete mat black civic has anyone that that with white alloys?

Ace, your car looks beautiful as it is. I vote don't repaint it.

From a professional point of view, a grey vehicle conveys the right mix of serious and playful that would impress any client. No offence but you're just 24 and a Milano red car may convey a spoilt brat image that may not go down that well. Aqua Blue is also a good colour, but why go thru the hassle of a repaint job? What if it turns out to be not up to the mark?

BTW, you car "stands out" quite easily even now

Re: Getting my Civic Repainted - Choices and Dilemma!

I will also suggest you to NOT to repaint your car. Your civic is one of the best looking one here on team-bhp and stands out pretty well.

Just do give her a nice detailing job and enjoy the driving.

PS - IMHO I don't prefer repainting jobs etc.

If you can find a good place that can give you the proper finish I would suggest you go in for the red. Its sporty, it stands out, its individual but its isnt flashy.

Re: Getting my Civic Repainted - Choices and Dilemma!

I voted for the Aqua Blue.

IMHO Red would be too loud and wouldn't be a good colour for a professional. I would prefer the Aqua Blue as it brings out the curves on the car really well. Even the original Blue that comes on this car is great, but this blue will give it a distinct flavour as there is a huge contrast in these two shades of Blue.

Aqua Blue it is.

No matte black color for me, it is a pain to maintain that color in the West, let alone India.

@ hellraiser_yank: Check out my thread for all the details with engine start button, buddy. I installed the button myself.

Good one Sahil. AFAIK, there was some discussion going on about a IL Blue E46 M3 from Bombay, wasn't it! Will surely keep this color in consideration. Thanks again for your feedback.

The blue looks good, its more sublime in nature.

The last color didn't appeal much.

Have fun modding your car
Go through this thread and you will become a fan of my car automatically, even with the color the car already wears.

Thanks for the compliments and a fair POV, Anoop. I am quite happy with CBP color myself. However, when I got my car's exterior refurbished last time, the paint guys did a horrible job at matching and post aquiring a few dings and dents in past months, I was contemplating another refurbishment job. Thats why, I was wondering, if I am going to get a few panels repainted and yet will run into the risk of not getting that perfect match, why not get the whole car repainted in a unique color of my choice. Hence the idea cropped up! Lets see, I am still working on taking more and more views on this matter.

As I said above bluevolt, I do like CBP color on my car. I am wondering about BHPians take on getting the paint job done.

Red is everything including being flashy, and I certainly do not mind getting that splash of red myself. However, if I consider things professionally, I have this feeling that this idea of Milano Red may not be good.

Precisely the reason to bring this color into this whole equation.

You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-toh
Again I dont know where you work but I do think that the colour wont be detrimental.

I work in one of India's large IT companies and if you look look at the open parking lot from say the 5th floor you will find yourself overwhelmed by the grey / silver / gold paint schemes. Those are 'professional' colours. The blue is nowhere near 'professional' (perceived as it is by corporate India). The odd Fiesta sport in its trademark blue stands out like a sore rotting thumb in an office parking lot.

I am with you to some extent neil, however I'd still say blue is better than red. Red calls for that 'Look at Me!' reaction while blue still looks sober comparatively! But thats my totally perception.

@ Mods: Thanks guys for moving the posts in appropriate place.

re: My Grey Shark: Honda Civic V-MT. 134,000+ kms crunched & counting!

Ace boy, here's my take on things -

1. I think your car's already lost one professional touch and gained another. It's lost the "working professional" touch and is on the verge of gaining the "professional racer" touch.

2. Given the above, go the whole hog and paint the car in Milano Red. It will not make your car look any more/less professional than it already is. Be advised however, that it's very, very, very easy to mess this colour up (and even more difficult to match shades should something happen, God forbid). And ensure that it's not a shade of red that fades when exposed to the sun.

3. The only reason I would go with Aqua Blue is if I'm not confident of getting the right shade of red at the right quality. If you do go for blue, however, make sure you get a Pearl finish/effect blue.

So my vote is for Milano Red if you really want to change things.

Else, just stick with CBP and detail the heck out of the finish. IMHO, a fully detailed and polished-to-a-mirror-shine car doesn't really shout "professional" unless the colour's black.

Regards,
spadix

You hit the nail with this point spadix. I was thinking the same thing. With such a stunning, sexy and racy looking Civic, Ace F355 wants the car to look every bit a perfect professional's. It already looks like a boy racer's car buddy. So, if you decide to repaint, go the full distance and go for Milano Red.

Ace get the car resprayed to Carbon Bronze Pearl. The car currently looks Hot in that colour. Our City ZX is of the same colour too.
1st Choice is always Red,but due to your job it wont go well as you need to meet clients and all. Also if you paint the car red you will have to do something to the alloys then.
