The fear is not only of damage but also of theft of electric ORVMs of these expensive cars.

I see numerous City and Civics/Corolla etc in Noida/Gurgaon/Delhi with one or both ORVMs stolen/broken. Same is the case with roof antennas. They too cost around 1-2K IIRC.

That's the reason I keep the car covered to keep ORVMS/antennas/Logos away from thieves eyes.

Hi bluevolt,
Congrats on completing one year of ownership and 'Threadship'...or is it 'Thread Ceremony' ?

Your babe (the car, the car !) looks as scrumptious as it did in the first set of snaps - I still remember my comments then. Trust the engine area too is as spotless and shiny.

Have a great n safe time with the Babe in the coming days. Good luck.

Ha! I should seriously stop using ' The car' as it may sound like 'The caaaaar' - the one with those extra AAAs. It will be Venus or City from next time.

re: It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!

My relative has lost the remote key of his Honda City i-VTEC and on initially contacting Courtesy Honda (Karnal) they have told that the entire central locking system needs to be replaced which is worth 12K as it will be risky to use the car with spare key as someone may use the original key to steal the car. The problem is that he lost the key near his home which is the root of worry.

What could be done for this issue? Should he get the entire system replaced?

Yep, unfortunately I guess that is the only solution.

With an original key, whoever finds it, anyone can take off with the car. If you block the code that the key carries, then the spare key won't work either.

Only solution - change the entire mechanism.

I too have suggested the same. Unfortunate for him to spend 12-13K because of a little mistake.

But what worries me is that if our remote key conks off or gets damaged and want a new remote then also we have to get the system replaced as my cousin told that the spare remote is also not available with company?

I am doubtful about this - If in future we need replacement of our remote key then what will happen?

Thanks I have informed him about this.

He is also exploring the option of installing an aftermarket autocop system which will cost him 3-4K with lock change.

I was searching for genuine Honda City accessories on google and found this page Honda City: About City : Overview

Wonder how City ZX page still exists on Honda India site.

Here is the screenshot of the drive between the two toll gates of Mumbai-Pune Expressway. It was my first attempt at it, may improve in later attempts.

This is an iPhone app by BMW. It measures a lot of parameters, such as, 0-50, 0-100, 400 m, 1 km, top speed, G force, etc. I noticed that the speed (and also the top speed) measured by this app is lower than that registered by the car's speedo. Still a useful app.

Oh that's good. Can you share the top speed achieved here or via PM if it is on higher side.
