This parting was much like a newlywed groom getting separated from her bride.
Obviously-still, amused that you have fatherly feelings for Venus:)-are you planning to nurture your real bride too in a fatherly manner?

So folks to sum it up, one final word – Venus is back in action and so I am. Watch this space for further streaming.
Heart-warming news- I am reserving a front row seat in advance.

Thanks Abhijit. Do keep us updated regularly about your Taffeta white babe too. Also any plans for naming her?

Thanks charthom, I cut short my journey and returned straightaway to home as Rakshabandhan festival is nearing.

Booking confirmed.

Hey BV welcome back buddy.
Ah the embrace, a lovely feeling that, and so well described by you.
Tank full and pressure checked. The absolute right thing to do.
Bea-U-tiful snaps.
Looking forward to reading further.
Drive Safe!

Today I bought a new body cover (Genuine Honda accessory) for my Venus for Rs.1500.

We have a construction work going at our house so I will use it after the work finishes otherwise it will be soiled with mud etc. as the car cleaner guy removes the cover and throws in our boundary while cleaning. (BTW the car cleaner guy is doing very good job)

Also on my way to home from showroom it was drizzling all the way and I noticed couple of VW Ventos without antennas. When I observed a second Vento I took a pic. I guess thieves are targeting Vento antennas also along with VW logo.

Would like to know more. Is it easy to put on and off and store. Hows the quality?

Is it custom fit for City or general size? Need one for Civic. Any idea how much?

This body cover is genuine Honda accessory tailored to fit City (includes the cap for antenna as well). General size covers don't have antenna cap and ORVMs caps. It also has CITY printed in large font on front size.

I got it from Honda Showroom only. The exact price is 1450 + tax which equals to 1500 rupees. You can get the same one for Civic from any Honda showroom. I don't have exact information on price but it should cost a little more than City's cover as Civic is wider and longer than City. So expect the price somewhere around 2000. You can confirm it from Honda showroom.

EDIT - And yes it is very easy to cover and uncover it. There is strap and belt which one can tie from underside to keep the cover in place. I usually use the binding clips to keep it intact (See pics).

This is the exact same cover i got for free from Honda in the deal when picking up the ANHC. It's a decent quality cover.

When picking up the Civic too i got a genuine body cover free in that deal too.
It's of the same quality.
Has Civic printed on it, which comes up near the windscreen.
Has pockets for the ORVM's.
and comes with a belt and lock to secure it in place.
It's a very useful thing to have. When i did not have a covered car park, i use to cover the Civic every single day. Not exactly sure about the cost though, will find out and post.
anywhere between 1500 - 2000 is my guess.

One thing which is missing though, is the zip for accessing the front door which was there on the cover we bought for the Classic Merc we owned once.
That cover was for around 2500/- But it was massive as the car was really wide and long.

We got the cover for free while purchasing the car but now it cost us 1500 rupees. My old car cover was torn by the dog in our colony:D.

So I advise all to GET the body cover for free while purchasing any car be it a Honda or a Maruti etc.

It easily saves you 1500-2000 rupees.

mdsaab, for Civic I think it will cost more than 1500 as Civic is longer and wider than City.

PS- While purchasing the body cover I inquired about the exhaust ppe finisher and I was shocked to hear the price. it was over 2500, don't remember exact amount.

Hi bluevolt,
Venus looks stunning ! Any particular care/ product used for the skin ?

What happened to the dog ? And what steps to prevent him from again having a go at the new cover ?

Is that an old set of 2 snaps or does the showroom ribbon still flutter on the bonnet ?!!

About that Vento and the missing aerial - another reason (though minor) as to why I was not very comfortable with the Yeti - as it has a similar Choti (Shendi in these parts !) just above the hatch - which would have been made short work of by passersby...thank God for the TFort's printed aerial (touchwood !).

Hi Guderian,

I use Formula One Wax and 3M Polish for exterior care. Other than this I keep the car covered when not in use to protect the car from sunlight.

Well the dog:D is still there in our colony. He is sort of a pet of whole colony don't bite anyone and keeps the thieves away. Here is the snap of dog that is responsible for my torn cover.

Now the dog torn the cover as it was removed by thunderstorm in April/May and was lying in mud/water. Otherwise dog don't touch the car/cover etc. To protect the cover from thunderstorm I now use binding clips to prevent it from fleeing. See the snap.

The second photo is an old one. The ribbon was removed long time back.

Most cars now come with detachable antennas which are theft prone and cost a bomb. I also like the SX4's invisible antenna (glass antenna).

Bluevolt,

Sorry about the old cover- an envious pet attacking another pet- a favourite!!

If the car is not completely dry while covering, the cover can promote corrosion.
Also if there is dust/mud etc left on the car,the covers can cause scoring marks too.

Even if you wash and clean the car-there could be dirt remaining inside the cover-causing scratches.

Do you really have to cover her up? A duster (aka.sudeepg) could be useful in clearing the dust that settles down.

Let me have your views too.

Hi charthom,

I completely agree with all your points.

I choose to cover my cover due to few reasons as listed below

-> It protects from harsh sunlight thus protection of paint gloss.

-> It protects from children playing around the car who have habit of touching the car.

-> It protects the car from thieves (to some extent).

and as mentioned by you I do not cover the car during rains or when car is wet/dirty.

PS - I was not so active on team-bhp for last few days so couldn't read your thread, I am just reading your thread now! Some nice pictures there.

Can other ANHC owners tell what's this slot( the one encircled) is for? It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!-dsc02323-fileminimizer.jpg

The slot is only on one side and not on other so it should be not for fog lamps.

-> Mine is SMT model.

Beneath which, is the Tow Hook.

I'm not an ANHC owner. :p
