Hi Gemi, I remember you wondering if the lesser FE is due to BSIV fuel. Please find a discussion on the same here:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...s-iv-fuel.html

And also have a look at this link which highlights the harmful effects of using non BSIV fuel in BSIV compatibel engines!!! So be careful!!!

Just to break the monotony of mileage updates where others seem to be getting the better part while i'm still stuck to my 13-ish figures...

My car delivery was on 26/04/2010. Not yet.

I would not worry much as long as you have proof of payment for extended warranty.

I am nearing 7,500 km in my Figo delivered on April 30. Strongly contemplating buying extended warranty.

Does Ford give this by default to all Figo owners or is this at the discretion of the dealers?

Thats less. Recently got 17.5 KMPL on uphill trip with 3 people and AC on.

1 question. What engine oil are ford dealers using ? Mineral or Semi-Synthetic ?

3rd year extended warranty costs 3500 bucks i guess and must be available with all ford dealers.

They are using regular Mineral Oil W40 grade. Thats what I was told.

abhibh did you opt for the extended warranty? If you did have you got some kind of a card or letter from ford regarding this?

My dealer picked my id and other details for extended warranty. Still not got any info either from Ford or the dealer.

It is 5W30 mineral and they will go for synthetic after 10k if the customer is willing..

7500 KM so soon? Man you are really figoing!!

This is given to coporate customers as a freebie by the dealers, however you could buy it. Talera Ford charges 3490 for third year extended warranty, you could also choose for TMP, have a discussion with your dealer, he should be able to help you.

Yes! I am going places every weekend in the Figo .

Thanks for the info and let me check if I can still get that corporate discount in terms of extended warranty.

I got a piece of paper from the dealer which indicates a 36 month warranty.
I got it for you for "free", said the sales chap.

Only got a letter stating that we paid for extended warranty. Yet to receive the papers from FORD. Sales guy told me it takes 1-2 months for it to arrive.

Figo Extended Warranty

  • The 3rd Year Extended Warranty for the Figo TDCi costs Rs.3490/-
  • You will be given a piece of paper by the dealer which will mostly be signed by the Sales Guy.
  • In 1-2 months time you are supposed to get a Computer Print Out Sheet with the details of warranty and your vehicle on front and all the Details (the Fine Prints) of the Extended Warranty on the back.
  • I did not receive it even after 3 months. I raised a query with Ford customer care and the dealers sent it to me in a week.
  • My Earlier FIAT had a complete booklet for the Extended Warranty Details. Now this sheet of paper reminds me i bought a cheap car.

EDIT: The fine prints are not too tempting. Many parts are covered for only 20K km. (on my earlier FIAT the least cover was for the suspension lower arms and was 35K km). One good thing is they mention a buffer range for the service ODO reading.

Latest Fuel Update:

After travelling around 460km on highway and 120km in City i drove into the same Reliance Fuel Station at Karunagappally (where i had my last fill) and she took in 34 litres of Diesel giving me an FE of 17km/l. Most of the highway was sedate driving around 80-100km/hr without any of those instant overtaking stunts.
