Thanks for sharing your experience, What is the EGR Valve and why it was changed twice in consecutive services?

Also, Please let us know if the car was a full house (7 people) or only limited people during your trips.

Please share your thoughts on the comfort for all the three rows.

It was due to the excessive noise before the 2nd service they changed it. Later it was changed due to a new design by M&M.

All trips have been atleast 6. Comfort on all 3 rows are just amazing, but getting-in and out is not a breeze.

Same question from me too..

i think 12 KM/ltr is little higher side. No idea if scorpio or other XYLO models are giving the same milage or not.

4th Paid Service Rs.5554/-
Oil Change
ECU Flash for new updates
Wiper blade changes

This also seems M & M labour charge is in higher side.

Neway totally its a good VFM car. We can not expect more in this budget.

Kalinga,
My XYLO also gives me 11KMPL in the city and in highway it gives 14KMPL without A/c and 13 with low A/c and 12 with High A/c. So what Gautham has mentioned is correct. Even My friend who bought a XYLO along with me gets the same mileage.

then its excellent...
If without AC XYLO give 14 in highway....then IMHO its a great milage for such kind of big machine.

And 13 kmpl with AC....thats very good....my Getz 1.1 gives me 12 - 14 with AC

Amused that you are asking that.

I changed the EGR valve, I forced them to infact. The MUV was smoking bad and they replaced to the new design. Nipple from behind.

Then the service guy told me all the vehilces that went for the third service were checked and changed the same.

Thanks Gautham, I see that third row is a front facing seat, Is it captain's seat in the middle row as well? and how do you manage to take the luggage with you? I mean, is there enough space behind the third row and is it reclinable?

Wanted to know if some other thing cropped up!

PS- It seems the EGR valves are sticky, always stuck open resulting in Black smoke.

They removed my previous EGR, side nipple and cleaned it thoroughly. Still there was smoke above certain RPM. New EGR valve back nipple, problem solved. Now run 28K kms.

That's great mileage IMO. My beast is 10 months old and is giving about 11 kmpl with 100% AC and city driving 60% time. Did you notice a change post the 3rd service.

I recollect you had an issue with the Audio remaining on post key removal. I faced the same issue earlier. The white thing (for lack of a better word) at lock has to come out when you extract the key. It was not unless I extracted the key in a abrupt motion. Problem solved by couple of squirts of WD40.

Is MM replacing EGR valves regardless of reported problems?

The issue with the audio being on got resolved by itself. Happened only twice. The EGR valve design has changed as per the service manager. So, they changed it after 3rd service.

Re: Mahindra Xylo - Running Report EDIT - 1 year 22600 Update

Gautham,
Are there any rattles in the vehicle? Being a new owner, I am a little concerned about the iffy plastics. Your thread has put in a lot of confidence about the xylo's capabilities and helped with the purchase decision tremendously. I would be glad if you could put in a word about how rattle proof the car is on the long run

Firstly, I am really glad to see a bhpian from Ooty.

My E6 has clocked 31,000kms and there are no rattles as such.

Do start a new thread, I am assuming you have picked up the E6 with ski racks. All the best.

Re: Mahindra Xylo - Running Report EDIT - 1 year 22600 Update

Hey gautham, nice choice. The xylo e8 is one of the best value for money muv's in india.
One thing i wanted to know about the xylo is about the suspension and the ride quality?
Is the suspension firm or is it loose?
If you have driven the swift, how would you compare the xylo's suspension and ride and the swift's? Like beejay said he hasn't faced any rattles as such, this means that the build quality of the xylo is decent. Also, how would you compare the scorp in terms of ride quality and handling? I have heard that the xylo is unstable at high speeds and has a tendency to roll a lot.
How is mahindra's after sales service?

great pictures and a few interior snaps would be good!
