Will be visiting them this weekend to check in reality.
Know what you mean mate. I have a dent on my Fiesta as well and the Ford service guys quoted INR 5500 for fixing the dent and repainting and polishing it. Checked with a multi brand outlet near my house and he quoted INR 2500 for the same job.

Re: Platinum Beast - Ford Fiesta 1.6 ZXi - 3 year / 32,000 kms done

Replaced the Left OVRM for the Fiesta which was recently smashed by a truck. Costed me Rs 3718/- incl of VAT and labour. However the OVRM comes with a white back cover instead of body colour which needs to be painted to match the body colour. The painting will cost Rs 400/- plus VAT & labour making it the costliest piece of servicing. . Since the replacement happened on a Sunday the painting will have to be done during weekdays.

For information, the Shreeji Ford's body shop has now been shifted from Ford workshop to the Balaji autoworld (Exclusive Fiat dealer in Thane) workshop since they share the same owner. Wonder why?

Was browsing through the Ford website when happened to see this. Ford has New Buyer's guide on the wbesite which gives details about the maintenance of the Ford vehicle, does not say which model. You can also download the manual in pdf format. Link attached. Good initiative I must say.

Guys any views on the Mahindra First Choice workshops as far as the remoavl of scratches/dents (small) are concerned. Do they do a good job? I have an offer from the Mahindra First Choice, Thane for repairing any two panels/sections with painting for Rs 3000/-. Do they do a good job with the painting coz the SA was very confident of painting job.?

The most inevitable happened. The beast has moved to a new dwelling but within the family. The car is sold to my BIL who had been eyeing the car for quite some time now. For me its still better as it the car stays with the family itself.

Before I handed over the car got the minor dents and scratches on the front bumper and left rear door removed from Mahindra First choice workshop in Thane. I must say they did a commendable job.

The beast served us well for 35K kms and my family incl myself will have some beautiful and fond memories of the car and its association. Drove the car to Pune for the last time and the engine responded in a special way as if it knew that we were parting ways. I am certainly going to miss it a lotttt.

A new association is in the offing and new experience to share. Wait n watch.

Hi ghodlur

I am sure u will miss the beast. I had read many of your posts on fiesta when i was not a member of the community. For me i am still enjoying it. Mine has run 57 K KMs now. I have been facing a strange problem for quite some times now. I have changed three wiper blade set in last one year with a Bosch make however every time the right hand side blade gives up and does not wipe completely. Wanted to know your experience on the same.

U bet, I will be missing the car, have some great memories about it.

Regarding your problem, it seems that the wipers are not correctly fit properly I guess or maybe the wiper quality is an issue although you say that you have replaced it with Bosch. I would suggest to get it checked from Ford workshop.

In my years of ownership of Fiesta, I did not change the wipers even once.

ghodlur - sad to see you parting ways with the beast.
OT- i saw from the 'booked' thread, that you have booked a punto diesel now? which means you've switched camps!!

why not a classic fiesta or figo diesel and continue being a ford-ian

The beast is not far from me, I can anytime ride it (but ofcourse with my BIL's permission).

Aha, the "question" asked. For the answers you will have a wait a bit when I will start a new thread for new ownership.

Sad to know that it has left your stable. I am sure you will miss it for a long time to come.

Please do update us about your new acquisition. I bet it will be a diesel.
