Rahul, could you post a picture with the high beams on - with the car preferably at the same location. That way it will be easier to understand the issue.

Will need to see pics of the High beam and the mounting behind the HL unit to understand more.

Is there any focusing/alignment option as a part of the kit?

Hmmm seems like there is a major misalignment issue, not that it cannot be done, but nevertheless I will ask the installer to reopen and correct the angle and reseal the lights.

re: Tata Safari 2.2 - Life beyond 65k kms

I could be wrong here, but the way I see it, your lights are perfectly aligned. The cut-off lines are clean. I can't really make it out, but maybe the beams are pointing a bit too high - on your already tall gaadi. You can try your hands at leveling the headlamps - either by using the manual adjusters (if any) on your headlamp unit and/ or by using the motorized lever on your dashboard.

By the way, if you don't mind, could you please share the details (components and approx total price) of your Morimoto Unit?

Rahul, Headlights look nice, have you noticed a significant change in performance?
on the alignment as Maddy mention have you tried to adjust with the dashboard control?

Yes, thats true... the headlamps are going to be reopened this week to align correctly the beams parallel to the ground level and i believe that it will solve the problem. I guess thats the only part left and yes they will be further lowered

Difference lighting.. you have to see it to belive it. I feel that stock lamps are like zero watt bulb in front of projectors seriously. I can drive with more confidence without blinding other motorists.
The best part is that, high beam to warn other morons who dont respect other fellow motorist.

Somehow i feel in rain 4300 hid disperse lite a lot during rains, so myself and S_U_N were contemplating 3000 hid based on practicalities and long run.

The HID kits are on AES http://www.aescar.com/

PS: My car is 3 in the series of retrofit upgrades so the costing part and reliability factor will be shared soon for sure http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...ml#post2885696

Hope this helps

Rahul,

Great mod! Looks very interesting and would be definitely going in for.

Can you get some photos when you are doing the realignment? Would be great to know how the whole things is being setup.

You got confused; I was talking about what you noted in the quote below.

Ah, sure.. the shrouds will be rotated anti-clockwise to make sure that the beam pattern would be parralel to the surface. Will try to take some pics whereever feasible.

There is a lock on orientation rings and beyond that they cannot be rotated. Ask Sunil to cut that lock if orientation is at the end.

Well some how managed to get somethings right Attached are the latest pictures of the retro-fit. Though not perfect but then worth the effort i guess. The installer somehow managed to get the beams parallel in shop and then after sealing i found that they moved a little bit anti clock and clock wise.
The previous issues of the left beam falling further and right closer have been solved as you can see in the pictures.

Thanks to S_U_N and Amit_Mechengg for guidance and support for this.

The journey continues...
