I just do ~30s idle before shutdown. Are you sure it is ~3 minutes?

Today rode top of the line Linea diesel for the first time

Now I realize what wonders the VTT do. Linea wont budge on a climb from Infy circle towards phase II in Hinjewadi, Pune in 3rd gear @ 30-35 kmph. Full A/C. 3 Passengers onboard.

Whereas in VTT its so very electric train like pulling away all the way.. Zilch turbo lag

Reminded me of old indica days.. pedal to metal and then wait for magic to happen & in that mean time, richshaw would take you over.

Damn.. 2.2 VTT has spoilt me

EDIT: These are my own views.. No offence to any Linea Diesel Owner and wont like to start a debate on this plzz.

+1, even I felt too and Manza appeared lazier to me. However, Fiesta D was much faster off the block. Not sure it was real or just an illusion- I am only 8000 kms old in Diesels

Tyres seem good for another 20-30 k depending on the way I drive em.
Brake pads are wearing out and I assume, they would need replacement in another 5-10k clicks. Off late I feel a light judder when braking, so.

How about your's ?

Have sent a email to TML to address the issues of jerks

Ooooh God....Ek baar dila de...! peace of mind

Rahul,

Congrats on the milestone. You are driving just too much in very short time..

The judder during breaking for a vehicle that covered 20k seems obvious. I had covered 23k in my 2.2VTT and faced the same behavior. Got the brake liner/pads cleaned at TASS yesterday, as I plan to start a 1500-2000 km journey this week-end.

Your view on the break pad life (good for another 10k KM) matches with what the SA told me as well.

Safe driving and wishing you more miles ahead..

Oh.. btw I just noticed that 19000kms mark just completed.
Life becomes a little boring when you have to just fill diesel and drive away...Am I dreaming too much ?
The magic potion works!!! with time it improved the FE.

One more trick learned to clean up cat con once a week

Hold time 10 secs at

1. 2000 rpm

2. 2500 rpm

3. 3000 rpm

4. 3500 rpm

3 secs hold time

1. 4000 rpm

2. max rpm (my rpm actual read out from diag comp was 4700 rpm) also known as max flyup speed.

Allow 3 mins to cool down

Was wondering how Happy_Wheels was doign just 80-90 kmph in 5th gear and cruising. I understood this is possible after the retro! 4th gear is like an auto gear, putters on and on from this end to the other.

Yup.. try accelerating in third gear and hear the turbo, hears like it also does kinda downshift, its very addictive..

Last week Sushant_r5 witnessed it. 40 to 90 kmph was extremely linear, feels always like a mumbai localtrain pulling from station

Last week, experts took control of the vehicle for detailed analysis on my complaint (repeated) and the issue was finally narrowed down to the weakest link in a car.. clutch (it wasn't working right) so there goes the JERK(s)..for now.

Kudos to experts to identify root cause.

Read details here ..
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ml#post1781243

After a couple of days, the vehicle is in my hand with the following new things..

1. New LX grill reasons unknown & that's mysterious.
2. New radiator fan (courtesy NVH team) reason being resonance freq mismatch with engine therefore louder engine NVH. and wow is the word. Its changed its character completely..
3. New clutch..santro feeling already gone :(

For reasons unknown all the things done at experts are classified.

The drivability and the NVH has changed the beast completely and hope it purrs all along AMEN.

Next 5000 - 10000km will reveal whether work was done actually beneficial or not.

So much for the so called character change.. someone goofed up while handling the radiator fan(s) change and radiator started to leak drops since last few days..multiple tries in to solve it didnt help so Safari gets a new TATA TOYO radiator tommorow.

So much for so called expert handling what a waste of time for me and money for TATA but then atleast a heartening thing is that its getting addressed. Having said that they pay themselves for what they have done

When will they start learning...
