Exactly. I had to escalate to their GM- then it was (found and) fixed. Did they pick it from your Safari- that explains why you lost it?

I am still missing one grommet on the tail door. I have reported it twice, but in vain. My safari is with BuB since Thursday for some service/work and I have told them again to fit this missing grommet. Lets see what they do now.

Btw, now I am putting a dab of fevikwik on these rubbers before sticking them so that they do not get washed/fall off with pressure wash/bumpy drive

My car is with TASS, probably I will get it back only by tomorrow. However, these rubbers are not difficult to locate by yourself. Just open all doors and bonnet and run your eyes on the periphery, both top and bottom - of doors. You will see there are small (1-1.5") vent holes covered with these rubbers. I guess three at the top and three at the bottom of each door. Ensure they are present. And then look at the bottom of LH/RH front doors- there should be stopper rubber (pic 1 in my original post). The engine bonnet has 4 such rubbers, two on each side, on the edges- to damp the vibration- open the hood and you will find them.

Complete's 10000 KMS

So I am 1 km short of completing the 10k mark since 24th June 09 .

Since few problems and no so problems were sorted out, the wildcat is running free.

Accidental filling of Hi Speed from BP COCO resulted in phenomenal 12.5kmpl last time with a smoothness and energy never like before... But hey, this time i got back to regular diesel again.

My SUV is purely in stock form..not even ICE except good ceramic garware sunfilms.. I know I know, the pics are long awaited with sunfilms, but yes they are on the way.

Sunfilms: 3500/-
Osram Night Breakers: 1400/-

Would be: Hella Rallye 500 or 700 :4000/- and a bracket holding it using the number plates nuts ==500/- (plug and play kinda). This was suggested to me from BUB as it doesn't at all requires any major mods or drilling etc.

Below is a brief summary of money spent until now apart from those EMI's!

Rahul; use a column for time spend at TASS. This is what annoys me when it comes to service, not proactive.

Premium diesels are discouraged by TML- it was reiterated again at last week's CEP that I attended at BuB Wakad. Weren't you invited?

I think we should haggle together and squeeze some better discount for Hellas from BuB. What say?

"See the place you were born"
"Get photographed at the same place in Srinagar after 30 years"
"Pass by the place where we stayed for 7 years and dreamed of flying Hunters, Jags and Mirage's yeah..but not to forget those lovely runs to have kwality ice-cream in Sector 18 Chandigarh, every saturday in dad,s 1956 make Fiat"
"Visit the school, where I broke someone's head"

Inspired by ofcourse before MMXII

But before that a Pre-emptive Third servicing would be required

Rahul, the 700s come with mountings, screws etc (bracket) so all they need to do is drill the holes & fix them. If the 500s don't, then its better you get the 700s since you're spending an extra Rs 500 for the bracket......(4000+500 as against 4950 for the 700s, all inclusive & the 700s have better throw).

I think mounting on a separate bracket may also lead to more vibrations as compared to directly on the bumper....

Why is oil being changed in your vehicle so often? My first oil change was at 7500(voluntary paid), then around 15000, and next at 28000.
And why wheel balancing at 1250?? As for car wash, thats kind of accessory charge, Not billable to Tata maintenance.

Well the TASS went for the oil change as per the service manual book . By the time, I realized,

Well that wheel balancing was me when, i suspected that they may be playing truant in the initial vibration/jerks days. Sigh.. only if I had bridgestone involved there itself, i wont have had that cost.

Yes I also came to know that..
More than that I am mainly interested in knowing the spare part pricing

E.g Castrol GTX API CI4 at dealers (not tass) costs approx 1600/- for 2x5 ltr cans Pune and the a version lower Castrol GTX API CH4 at TASS costs 1900+. Why????

To top this, Mobil Delvac 7.5ltr can from oil dealer was costing 1650/-.
The oil filter of better quality from Mico Bosch costs 120/- and TML supplied cost 161/-

The OEM airfilter from the one who makes them and supplies to TML costs 550 something and the same thing sells at TASS at 700+

For sure there are huge huge margins TML is making..By and large I am seeing the price paid for oil changes of 2.2 owners in last year is way less than what we are paying this year.

This is common to many/all companies. They price the spares higher than that of the OEM and of course, make money in the bargain.
And, in most brands, service costs decrease YoY as well.
